S, Court of yjfwUo. f— —** •jt J’ .r S’ j ,ss s s-s r £[_!- From Lit Hi s Form*. IMITATION OF CATULLUS. To HIMSELF. Miser Catulle,Jennas ineptire Ac- Oa‘-.o the sighing fool to play ; Cease to trifle life awav ; Nor vainly tliiiik those joys thine OVII, Which a!l, alas! have falsely flown ! What hours Catullus, once were thine, How fa'rly seem'd thy clay to shine, When lightly thou didst fiy to meet The girl who smil'd so rosy sweet— The girl, thou lov-’dst with fond er pain, Than c ’csr thy heart can feel a gain, You met —ymr souls seem’d all in one — Sweet little sports were said and done — Thy heart was warm enough for both, And hers, indeced, was nothing lo'h. Such were the hours that once were thine, But, ah ! t’mse hours no longer shine ; For now the nymph delights no more In what she lov’d so dear before ; And al! Catullus now can do, Is to be proud and frigid too ; Nor follow where the wanton flies, Nor sue the bliss that she denies. False maid ! he bids iarewel to thee, To love, and a!’ iove’s misery. The h> y dav <>t his heart is Uor, Nor will lie court one favor more; But soon he’d see thee droop thy head. Doom’d to a lone and loveless bed When none will seek, the happy night Or come to traffic in delight ! Fly p< rjur’d giri ‘.—but windier fly ? “Who now will praise thy cheek and eve ? Who now will drink the ryreu tone, Widest tells him thou art all nis own ? Who now will court thy wild de lighis, Thy hoiiiosr and turtle bites ? Oh ! none. wild he who lov and lielore Can never, never love thee more! , —II W ||B H WfTliiO ff ii T <i ■ nf I m * GEORGIA, gn his Excellency JARED JR IVIN, Governor and Command. {r in Chiefs/ the At my and Navy of this Slate , and of the Militia thereof.
