Tallow 20 22ets Augusta, December 20. Cotto.v.—The market continues in a dull state, and prices are daily declining. Prices offered one day and declined, cannot be ob tained the noxt. This state of things is caused by tho scarcity of money, and un favorable advices from below and from Eu rope, and prices are now ruling lower than they have been for several years past. The decline since Wednesday last, on nil quali ties offered for wile, has been fully 4 to J cents—tho latter price on the lower grades, which constitute the bulk of tho present offering stock. Grades above Good Mid dling aro scarce and difficult to bo had, as little or none is offering. The demand has been fair, but the low prices offered by pur chasers, causes planters to be reluctant sel lers. The sales of tho week reach 1500 to 2000 bales, the market closing dull at the quotations given below. The receipts are light for tho season of tbe year, and the shipments are on the increase, both to S&- vannah nnd Charleston. Wo now quote. Inferior and Ordinary. 5 @5} Low to Strict Middling. FEATHERS.—The demand at the preseut time is moderate, aud sales are making at prices rang ing from 37 to 40 cents. RAGGING.—The stock is light, and tho de mand fair. Gunny is selling from storos at 154 a 10 cents ROPE.—Stock light, demand good. Selling at 114 a 121 cents. MOLASSES.—Tho stock of Cuha is light, and holders are asking higher prices.
