H.F cera to purify the blood and stimulate it into healihy Fic
tion. They remove the obstructions of the stomach, bowe's, liver,
and oilier organs of the body, and, by- restoring their irregular ac
tion to health, correct, wherever they exist, such derangements
a? are the first causes of disease. An extensive trial of their yir- ■
tueg, by Professors, Physicians, and Patients, has shown cures of ;
dangerous diceaeos almost beyond belief, were they not aubstanti- i
ated by pers-mp of such exalted position and character as to forbid j
the suspicion of untruth. Their certificates are published in my \
American Almanac, which the A cants below named are pleased to !
furnish free to all inquiring.
Annexed we give Directions for their u*e in the complaints
which they havo been found to cure.
For Coptiveners. —Take one or two Pills, or such quantity as to
gently move the bowelp. Costireness is frequently the aggrava
ting cause of Piles, and the cure of one complaint is the cure of
both. No person can feel well while under a costive habit of body.
Hence it should be, as it can be, promptly relieved,
For DvaerrsLi, which la sometimes the cause of Costivenass, and
always uncomfortable, take mild doses—from one to four—to stim
ulate the stomach and liver into healthy action. They will do It,
and the heartburn , lod.ybum and aovtbum of dyspepsia will rap
idly disappear. When it has gone, don’t forget what cured you.
For a l’oui. Stomach, or Morbid Inaction of Vie Howei-a, which
| yrodnees general depression of the spirits and bad health, take
] from four to eight Pills at first, and smaller doses afterwards, un
’ til astivity and strength is restored to the system.
For NsßvonsxESs, ,~icz lleahacsb, Nausea, Pain in tha ,Siom
ach,Back, or Side, take from four to eight pills on going to bed.
If they do not operate sufficiently, take move the next day until
they do. These complaints will be swept out from the ystem.—
Don't wear these anil their kindred disorders becauso vour stom
ach is foul.
For SCROFOT.A, Ervsipei.ab, and ait diseases of Vie Skin, take
the Pills freely and frequently-, to keep the bowels open. The erup
tions will generally soon begin to diminish and disappear. Many
j dreadful ulcers and sores have been healed up by the purging and
i purifying effect of these Pills, and some disgusting diseases which
■ seemed to saturate the whole system have completely yielded to
their influence, leaving the sufferer in perfect health. Patients ! !
your duty to society forbids that you should parade yourself
around the world covered with pimples, blotches, ulcers, sores, and
all or any of the unclean disease* of (he skin, because your’ system
wants cleansing.
To Purify the 81000, they are the best medicine ever discover
ed. They should be taken freely and frequently, and the impuri
ties which sow the seeds of incurable diseases will be swept out of
the system like chaff before the wind. By this property they do as
much good in prexenting sickness as by- the remarkable cures
which they are making every where.
Liver Comflaixt, Jai'kricb, and all SUioits Affections arise |
from some derangement—either torpidity, congestion, or obstruc- ■
tions of the Liver. Torpidity and congestion vitiate the bile and
render it unfit for digestion. This is disastrous to the health, and
the constitution is frequently undermined by no other cause.’ In
digestion is the symptom. Obstruction of the duct which empties
the bile into the stomach causes the bile to overflow into the blood.
This produces Jaundice, with a long and dangerous train of evils.
Costiveness, or alternately costlvcness and diarrhtea, prevails.—
Feverish syniptons, languor, low spirits, weariness, restlessness, i
and melancholy, with sometimes inability to sleep, and sometimes •
great drowsiness; sometimes there is severe pain in the side; the f
skin ami the white of the eyes become a greenish yellow; the stem- ;
ach acid; the bowels sore to the touch; the whole system irritable, j
with a tendency to fever, which may turn to bilious fever, bilious
colic, bilious diarrhoea, dysentery, <ec. A medium dose of three or
four Pills taken at night, followed by two or three in the morning,
and repeated a few days, will remove the cause of all these trou
bles. It Is wicked to suffer such pains when you can cure them for
88 cents.
Rheumatism, Gout, am<2 all Inflammatory Fevers arc rapidly
cured by the purifying effects of these Pills upon the blood and the
stimulus which they afford to the vital principle of Life. For these
and all kiiidred complaints they should b taken in rolld does to
move the bowels gently, but. freely.
! A3 a DuWbb Pile, this Is both agreeabh and useful. No Pill can

/v/‘/Hlt\\\ N vade mecuin compass the very quint*
essence of medical science on this important suhjeet ; as the re
sult of the experience of the most eminent physicians in Europe
and Araerioa is thoroughly demonstrated in his own highly suc
cessful practice in the treatment of secret diseases in many thou
sands of cases in the City of Philadelphia alone.
The practice of Dr. Hunter has long been, and still is, literally
utiboundod, but at the earnest solicitation of numerous persons,'he
has been induced to extend the Bphere of hia professional usefttl
nesa to the community at large, through the medium of his ‘med
ical Manual and Hand-Book for the Afflicted.”
It is a volume that should be in the hand of every family m the
i land, whether used as a preventive of secret vices, or rs a guide
for the alleviation of one of the moat awftil and destructive sour
ces ever visited upon mankind for the ein of sensuality and Impu
rity of every kind. . . ... . „
; It Is a volume that has received the unqualified recommendation
i of tho first physicians in the land, while many clergymen, fathers,
J mothers, philanthropists and humanitarians, have most freely **-
i tended its circulation in all quarters where its powerful teachings
would be likely to be instrumental in the moral purification and
physical'healing of multitudes of our people, among the young, vol
atile aud indiscreet, otherwise the pride and flower of the nation;
The author argues particularly, most strongly against every spt
cics of self-defilement, and warns parents and guardians, in search
ing terms, to guard the young of both sexes from the terrible con
sequences concomitant of their ignorance of physiological lawn and
sexual impurities and irregularities, whether exhibited by preco
cious development or arising from the vicious and corrupting ex
amples of their school-mates or otherwise. To those who have
been already ensnared to the “paths that take hold on hell,” a
clear i\r.d explicit way is shown by which they may secure a re
turn of soued health, and a regeneration of the soul from its terri
ble pollution.
It is well known that thousands of victims are annually sacrifi

uerial or Syphilitic diseases—Strictures, Seminal Weakness Ner
vous Debility, and the numerous maladies which spring directly or

In view of these facts, and when it is also considered that about
100,000 persons die annually in the United States es Oonsumntfen

of their progenitors, agreeably to the Scriptural enunciation tw
