Meet Us in Greenesboro’.
Wo will be in Greenesboro’ on the first Tuesday
in January, and will have every man’s account ready
for him. We beg all to come prepared to settle them,
’ and those who cannot come, we hope will send the
money by their friends. We wish to close up this
year’s books as early as possible.
Large Negro Sale in Greenesboro’.
A large lot of Negroes, all’ sizes and ages, belong
ing to the estate of Hon. Wm. C. Dawson, will be
sold in Greenesboro’ on the first Tuesday of January,

The Anniversary of St. John the Evan

34, on Saturday, the 27th inst., in the city of Greenes
boro’, on which occasion an address will be deliver
ed by Rev. Creed Fulton, President of the Southern

Greene Sheriff’s Sale.
WILL BE SOLD, before the Court House
door in the city of Greenesboro’, Greene
county, on the first Tuesday in January next, within
the legal hours of sale, the following property, to wit :
Two hundred and eighty acres of Land, more or
less, situated within a mile of the Public Square, ad
joining lands of Hugh C. Mitchell, and others—le
vied on as the property of Reuben Bennet, to satisfy
sundry fi. fas. from Greene Inferior Court in favor of
Sarah Forrester, John F. Lawson, and others, vs.
said Bennet.
Also, at the same time and place, will be sold, one
tract of Land, containing fifty-four acres, more or less,
lying on the Athens Branch Rail Road, adjoining
lands of James Carlton, and others—-levied on as the
property of Joseph Edwards, to satisfy one fi. fa. in

Administrator’s Sale.

AGREEABLY to an order from the Court
of Ordinary of Greene county, will be sold on
the first Tuesday in February next, before the Court
House door in Greenesboro, Greene county, between
the usual hours of sale, a certain tract of land known
as the Fretwell Tract, containing four hundred and
thirty-seven and a half acres, more or less, bounded
b*r knds of Poullain, Cone, Mrs. Montfort, Mrs.
Sweet and others. Sold under the last will and tes
tament of William Fretwell, deceased, for the pur
pose of division among the remainderman. Persons
desirous of seeing said land are referred to James L.

ceased, all the Perishable property belonging to the

Horses and Mules, Farming Utensils, and House
hold and Kitchen Furniture, and a good Carriage.—

Guardian’s Sale.
AGREEABLY to an order from the Court of
Ordinary of Greene county, will be sold in
the city of Greenesboro, on the first Tuesday in Jan
uary next, five hundred and fifty-five acres of land,
lying on the road from Penfield to Woodville, about
one mile from the former place, adjoining lands of
Dr. Herron and Mrs. English. The fencing is in
good repair, and the plantation in good farming or
der. Sold as the property of the minor children of
Henry English, deceased, for the purpose of division.
