That choice is yours alone. The Barb does not endorse either party, but we do urge you to vote! The Barb has set high standards for endorsement and recommendation of political candidates. Thus in many races within the Democratic and Republican primaries we are making no recommendation. Our criterian for endorsement is that the can didate not only be open to the elimination of anit- gay laws and ordinances, but that he or she have a positive platform and record of community invol vement. A recommendation rather than an endorsement is an indication that we feel that the candidate has met our basic criterion., but has neither publicity or privately indicated his or her position on the issue of gay rights. We would add that while recommenda tion is made without an actual statement of position from the candidate. We feel that if the issue was before them, considering the past record in the area of civil rights, that they would be supportive of le gislation enhancing the civiT liberties of gay citizens. *- Endorsement Democratic primary U.S. Senate U.S. Congress 4th District 5th District Herman Eugene Talmadge Elliott H.
