The .Barb 4 CLUB THREE FEATURES TOP ENTERTAINMENT Shawn, Lily White, Billy Jones, And Jimmy Dee At Club Three Shawn, Miss Gay Atlanta 1974, headlines the nightly show at the Club Three, 13th at W. Peachtree. Other stars include regulars Ernestine Brown, Apple, Jimmy Dee and Mr. Mickey Day. Guest stars from throughout the country are also frequent performers. Even before being crowned Miss Gay Atlanta, Shawn had been a favorite entertainer in Atlanta. Her best numbers are slow love ballads that can surely bring fond (or not so fond) memories to everybody. Shawn also has a great way with makeup, perhaps the best we’ve seen in a long time. Ernestine Brown ( a cabaret A mitarart ) t r^LUB WdMp 1139 WEST PEACHTREE ST., N.E. - ATLANTA ■HREE Discotheque THE SOUND OF LOVE Super Show An I xtr*u lOiiidrv Intwt(tinmen! Experience ’ Have you istened lately? Jimmy Dee is excellent with a variety of numbers and performers, but is best, in our opinion, when she does Diana Ross. Jim my hasn’t been doing Diana as much lately, mostly due_ to the amount of time ne cessary to apply the cor rect makeup. Apple spe-~ cializes in songs recorded by the fabulous Barbra Streisand. She isadammn- ed good actress, and her impersonation of Ms Strei sand ranks with the best. Ernestine Brown’s country and western songs are her best. Ernestine’s flamboy ant wardrobe and “tall and tantalizing” figure her the perfect C/W interpreter. Our favorite is “Y’all Come.” “The Frantic and Gay Mr . Mickey Day” is best at comedy. His routines fre quently cause hysterical laughter and pandemonium and his hairstyles are some of the most imaginative, far-out creations to be seen in Atalnta. In addition to the shows, the Club Three features what we consider one of the more intimate atmos pheres in town. There is seldom, if ever, a cover charge.
