June 1976 ^HE BARB 8 «v<Wm
By PETER THOMAS
Dearest cuddlecats, Momma
really missed you all last month
but thank you for being so kind
and patient and letting old Floss
take her annual vacation. June
is busting out all over but so is
Mother F. just busting to give
you ALL the Florida news, so
hang on tight because here we
&EY WEST: My dears, will I
ever recover from my sensational
one thousand and one nights at
the world 'famous
DELMONICO’S BAR where a
girl like me can drink and disco
until dawn. Then glide upstairs
to the FRIENDLY FRIENDLY
intimate bar, and for a restful
interlude laze away some time at
the beautiful garden called the
NEW STREET BAR, all part of
the fabulous DELMONCO bar
complex. Will someone please
return my lost gym sock and
tanktop? . . . The ever-popular
KEY LODGE MOTEL is a place I
can highly recommend having
spent many happy and
interesting days and nights at
this lovely motel. The pool patio
is simply too too tropical for
words with verdant vegetation
like you’ve never seen, and so
easy to talk with the friendly
guests. A trig plus is that it’s
walking distance to just
everything that’s interesting in
the historic town of Key
West . As always I must
give the absolutely highest
rating to that gourmet’s delight,
THE PORT OF CALL
RESTAURANT, where Flossie
can be dining in splendor with
one or more admirers. DO NOT
miss this wonderful restaurant
when vacationing in Key West.
Sorry dear, no autographs
during dinner!

POOP DECK’S weekend tea
dances at the MARLIN BEACH

with simply anyone who is
anyone making certain that they
attend. Try the UPPER DECK
for a sumptious dinner
- excellently served, with a
complimentary salad bar, and
then hit the LOWER DECK, free
with your dinner stub and get
into the disco-
action.. . . TACKY’S BAR is in
high gear with shows, special
events, dancing in the doghouse,
and ever so near the fantabulous
JAY-BIRD NEWS that has some
of the world’s most sensational
picture books, rings (and I don’t
mean engagement), geegaws
and super minimovies that are
the REEL thing . . . and if
you’re wondering where the girls
are in Ft. Lauderdale I suggest
that you drop into the ODDS &
ENDS BAR at 3148 NE 12th
Avenue, and don’t forget that
boys are welcome too ... Fly

THE FULL MOON at 708 N
Federal Hwy. This could be your
June to swoon at the

TONY’S VILLA with one of my
most faithful escorts and as
always had some of the finest

quaint Italian eatery, or carry out

KNOXVILLE
K town has really been
buzzing with excitement during
the last weeks. More and more
gays seem to finally realize that
the time is right to get out of
their closet and go out and let
their hair down. Cruising is at
an all time best with all those
sexy students from UT all over
town.
The most excitement is
enerated by the Europa Club,
o many things have happened
that I don’t really know where to
start. There is a new manager
should 1 say an old manager
since he has managed several
gay bars including the BACK
OFFICE of yesteryear as well as
the CAROUSEL CLUB.
James Hoskins a retired drag
queen (he will kill me for
mentioning it but who cares) has
shown that he not only is a
beautiful person but also has a
good business head on his
shoulders. Since he has joined
the Europa the place has been
offering new and entertaining
Lyons plays at the popular piano
bar, and the food is too too
divine. If you see me there, do
hop a table and say hello. I
promise not to bite. How could I
ever say au revoir until you’ve
had your monthly dose of
Flossie’s worldly wisdom? The
message- of-the-month is LOVE!
Not just the physical love, that
according to good Dr. Freud,
makes the world go around, but
the spiritual love of one fellow
human being for another, innate
in each of us, that dictates we be
fair understanding and giving to
all our brothers and sisters.
Remember that for every fault
you put up with in a friend he or
she may be putting up with two
af your faults. So get out there
pussycats and LOVE, LOVE,
LOVE! Until next month, love
and kisses from your very own

Had to make a few phone calls to
one of our friends since I had no

The friend I am talking about is
none other than the present Miss

in Nashville? She left Knoxville
and is now the assistant show
coordinator as well as starring
herself in the shows at one of the
finest show clubs in the

Tina Louise is the show director,
and even so I have not seen her
latest show I know that it must
be fantastic since I personally
know and have seen most of her
cast members. With Tina and
Chamie are the talents of Regina
Rae,(that beautifulbronze
beauty) Lennie La Toke, Liza La
