Night Hawks
The Night Hawks are starting to build
momentum again after their year off and
the loss of guitarist, Jimmy Thackery.
The Night Hawks were one of the most
popular rock/blues bands on the circuit.
They toured over 300 days a year for
almost fifteen years. The layoff was mostly
due to Thackery and disillusion over a
failed record deal with Warner Brothers.
The Night Hawks could produce ecstatic
live shows, but could never carry that
energy over on vinyl.
Opening acts such as George
Thoroughgood and the Fabulous
Thunderbirds that once emulated the
Night Hawks have now crossed over the
barrier and found record success.
Despite attempts by the Night Hawks to
have Thackery just play half of the time,
Thackery insisted on touring with his own
band, the Assassins.
Now the Night Hawks are trying a
different approach, something they think
may help their recording success. They
are touring with different vocalists and
guitarists and hope to eventually find the
one to take them over the barrier.
The Night Hawks also have a new
album. "The Night Hawks Live in Europe".
The Night Hawks will be playing Saturday
the 20th at the Rockfish Palace and you
never know who'll be there joining them.
