Letters to the Editor
Dear Mr. Editor and Mr. Artist:
Is the true nature of Athens and its
"progresive" existence only now apparen
or is this merely the work of that horrifying
common creature known as the
OVEREAGER ARTIST? — i.e., a
somewhat talented individual who will do
anything crass, vulgar, or plainly pathetic
to sea his work in print.
This cartoon offends heterosexuals,
homo- sexuals, and a fine bdnd. What a
coup! Why draw more? I'm sure an encore
of fitting magnitude would tax your
available mental faculties.
I am a female .heterosexual. For the
small-minded, etc. artist, I will attempt to
define: I am a girl who likes guys. I also
like music. I have seen the Indigo Girls
three times; at NO time have I seen
anyone to compare with the pecp'e in this
cartoon. What have I seen? — you ask
with genuine interest, as you (I'm sure)
would not be so close-minded as to
stereotype people or music by such an
inane qualification as sexual preference.
WELL, I have seen nice, friendly PEOPLE
who want to listen to a good band.
