The Phoenix, Arizona, trio will be pulling a few pranks onstage at the Uptown Lounge. Brothers Curt and Chris Kirkwood and their drummer Derrick Bostrom play wildly improvisational sets that rarely mirror their crystalline album material. Curt Kirkwood is known as one of the most innovative guitarists, partly because until recently the band never practiced and never learned to duplicate their own songs the way they were recorded. Look for the Puppets to pull a few out of the hat.
