Flagpole • March 30, 1988 Page 7 40 Watt s 7th Anniversary Friday, April 1st and Saturday the 2nd will be the weekend-long celebration of the 40 Watt Club's 7th Anniversary of opening at 256 W. Clayton Street. The 40 Watt moved from a location upstairs on College Square and opened with a performance by Pylon on April 3, 1981. When reached for comments, the long line of owners had the following illuminating thoughts: Curtis Crowe: That's Great! How about letting my band Final Frontier play the anniversary gig? Paul Scales: If they ever let me out of this cell, I'll never have anything to do with rock n' roll again. Doug Hoeschst: Can't talk now — I was supposed to be in Jamaica a year ago. What money? Jared Bailey: So what, the cover charge is still $3. Barrie Greene: What will I wear? The wake for the decrepit old Watt Club will feature Love Tractor on Friday and some historical special guests on Saturday.
