Figure which day(s)
Boy (and girl), that’s easy to do this week. Why. on Friday night, October 11, you get the duo-likes of
28 Days and The Go Figures at The Downstairs. Betcha they’ll sell a lot of Pabst Blue Ribbons that night.
Both bands are really good and well worth your time and trouble; 28 Days features some magnificent
songwriting that ought to be getting sold in Nashville. (Nobody’d change a notch, folks.) And The Go
Figures are worth figuring. Bring yourcalculator, whynot? (Whynot, Mississippi is noplace close to
Winona, by the way.) (30.)
What’s that again?
Wasn't it “Take from the rich, give to the poor."??? Who taught me to punctuate? It sure wasn't Robin
Hood, folks! — The Georgia Theatre, returning for three nights to the film genre, brings you the new version
of the old classic, Robin Hood, or did I already say most of that? The star is, reputedly, Kevin Costner, and
the dates are, sureasshootin’, Monday, October 14, Tuesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 16.
Let's just hope there isn't a comma famine, at least between now and then. (30.)
Make yourself/ves happy
Doubly. The Fabulous 40 Watt presents Sister Double Happiness on Tuesday, October 15. We know
they have a tape, but that's about all we know. Jared says they’re real cool, but so is ice cream, or it melts.
You know that. Well, that’s all we know. Call the club for further information, if you’re an infomamac. We
all are, but we're too sleeepy at a time like this. (30.)
