Dec. 26 - Jan. 4. Bnng old trees and phone books for
recycling. Those bringing a tree on Jan. 4 will receive a free

Nativity Scene — Tuctolon United Methodist Church.
Bethlehem Market Place in which you walk the streets of
Bethlehem and meet the beby Jesus. Dec. 13-15 from 7

New Years Celebration — ‘First Night Athens*. A family
onented celebration. Tickets of $5 or $2.50 allows wearer
to attend over 40 performances held in various indoor and
outdoor locations throughout Downtown Athens. 353-1421.
Open House — Georgia Museum of Art Exhibition of
photographs from long ago will be on display, creative
artists gifts available, ana the Athens Belle Hill Singers will

KIDS
Christmas Workshop — State Botanical Gardens. ‘Step
Into Chnstmas*. Dec. 8 and 15, for children 5 -10 yrs. old.
Session I is 2 - 3 p.m., Session II is 3:30 - 4 p.m. Children
will learn about Chnstmas around the world through drama,
storytelling and games. $4 for members, $5 for non-mem

Holiday Workshop — Sandy Creek Nature Center. ‘Low
Impact Holidays*. Dec. 14 from 10-11 am. Hands-on
event for elementary aged children and their parents. Ac
tivities include making home gift wraps, ornaments from re
cycled items and other projects which show how to make
the holiday season ‘Earth-fnendly*. The program is free,
but there is a limit of 20 children. Preregistration is required.

Storytime — Athens Regional Library. For preschool (3 - 5
yrs.) and toddler (24-36 mos.) aged children. Storytime will
be held Tuesdays and Wednesdays through Dec. 18 from
