Unlike natural worlds, virtual worlds are
not only discovered by man; they are created
by man as well. We hear not only 1 found this
place first’ but we also get *1 made this place
first.' There is no division between what is
natural and what is manmade. Man can in
deed reinvent and change the natural world
he lives in, but in doing so he often destroys
it. In virtual worlds he can create places out
of what was once nothingness.

The magazine daims to be the first free
interactive online 'zine. They stake their
dalm In the face of Wired. Regardless, they
have a great site here packed with site-spe-
dflc Info and reading. You can easily spend
an afternoon here. The political junkie gets a
good fix here (in the left arm). There's a spe-
dal section on the Newt himself and a post
ing in c^e of the chat rooms; they appear to
be bulletin boards about a book that daims
to have extensive evidence on a plot to as
sassinate Bill Clinton. 'Operation Mt.
Rushmore,' which has been put on tempo
rary hold, allegedly involves the ONI, CIA and
the Mossad! Read for yourself; they plan to
keep the mother free. URL: http://

Music info, visuals, sounds and more are
brought to you by the Internet Underground
Music Archive, URL: http://sunsite.unc.
edu/ianc/index.html. This giant site sits on
the famous Sunsite mainframe in Chapel Hill,
N. C. Graphically magnificent, the IUMA is the
ultimate rock & roll resource on the net. It has
many links to label and band home pages
including the Warner Bros, home page,
http://www.iumci.com/Warner, and the
R.E.M. home page, http://wwwJuma.com/
Warner/R.E.M..html. There's band info,
photos, tour info, discographies, news up
dates and cool graphical online 'zines. This is
one of many music sites on the net. I have a
friend in Orlando who has started a new la
bel, Canned Corn. He says he has made
more connections on the net in the last six
months that he did in the previous four years.
The sense of community created in virtual
ity is real.

The Games Domain is a mega
jumpstation to games sites all over the
Internet. It has over 350 links and has been
recently updated. There are links to games
played in cyberspace and to sites with
downloadable stuff. You'll get all the Internet
games info you can handle if you start here:
http://wcl-rf.bham.ac.uk Games Do
main. Remember, this address refers to UNIX
(not DOS), so they're case sensitive.
There is a fat ftp site at ftp.uml.edu if you
don't have a Web browser. Go to the msdos
directory and look for games sub-directories.

While surfing I ran into some skaters, so I
decided to pursue them and found skating
sites everywhere. Dan, a skater himself, set
up Dan's World of Skateboarding. URL: http:/
/web.cps.msu.edu/~dunhamda/dw/
dansworld.html There's some eye candy
from the streets of San Francisco by Mike
Blanbac: Scott ollies over a street, Cnris Pole
tweaks a backside 5.0 grind, etc. Dan's got
some hot links to the Primus Homepage,
http://iris3.carb.nist.gov:S000/pub/
ram/music/primus/primus.html, and to
the Beastte Boy* Home Page, URL: http J/
www.nando.net/music/gm/Beastio
Boys. Also check out the USENET newsgroup
alt^kate-board to talk to other skaters
about anything skate related.

Well, I let Blue out to pee, and of course
she was on the prowl for trash. Blue
pointed her one blue eye in the direction
of Bianca's Smut Shack. URL: http://
bianca.com/shack/index.html. Blue,
come back! Stay away from that trash! Oh
no, not the duct tape! There's lots o' smut
here (mostly 'R' rated), including a vibra
tor catalogue that goes beyond the be
yond.

Check out the Alternative X home page,
http://marketpiace.com/ ait.x/
althome.html. A place packed with site
specific alternative reading. It describes it
self as a publishing web of 'avant-pop
novelists, language poets, cyberpunk es
sayist, beat reporters and interzone real
ists.' Well, whatever, there's quite a bit of
good reading here. I'm not quite sure who
these people are, but they're more than
happy to tell you.
