will amaze you. The show will
be performed once at 5 p.m.
and again at 8 p.m.
Sugardaddy’t (Garden Stage)

ing lot at the corner of Thomas
and Washington into one big
lounge, from noon-3 p.m.

CD. and will be playing several
sets here, from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

MONDAY,
JULY 29
Always... Patsy Cline (Classic
Center Theater) A remarkable, joy
ful and tuneful tribute to the so-
much-more-than country singer
Patsy Cline. The show features
many of the songs that Cline made
famous. 8 p.m.
Asa Nisi Masa (Garden
Stage) Beautiful, haunting,
mesmerizing. I've never seen
this band cn an outdoor stage,
but if they can enrapture this
parking lot the same way they
do the Atomic or the 40 Watt,
expect a huge crowd of people
with their jaws agape. This is
one of tne good ones. 9:30 p.m.
Tha Bacups (Allen's) Acoustic
classics with an emphasis on vo
cal harmonies.
Orogus (Garden Stage) Blues-
based music from noon-3 p.m.
Grumpy (40 Watt) Some of these
guys are in a joke band called The
Boulevard Bombers, which played
one show where they duplicated
note-for-note the entire album
Sunbrain Live. The Bombers have
also been known to perform Hootie
& the Biowfish songs at punk rock
shows just to get a reaction.
Grumpy is the more “serio'js" side
of these half-demented geniuses.
Oh, they also like to blow stuff up.
Opening for Man or Astroman?
King Daddy Zeb (DT's Down
Under) Piano-based New Orleans-
style boogie woogie.
Man or Astroman? (40 Watt)
They're just about the most prolific
band on this planet (and several
others), and I'm just glad they de
cided to come backwards in time
to bridge the gap between the mu
sic they'll make hundreds of years
from now, and the music of today.
Beware the Snackzooka. Grumpy
opens.
Mr. Tibbs (High Hat) This is a
tribute show to guitar maestro Jimi
Hendrix. These guys try to be as
authentic (in every detail) as they
can.

Flat Duo Jets (40 Watt) Part

Serenade." Also of note, the
Jets' Dexter Romwebber just
released his first solo record:
it's a collection of songs he's re
corded over the years and all
over the place. Playing with
Kevn Kinney.
The Fountains (High Hat)
One of the single most ener
getic bands I’ve seen in some
time. It doesn’t hurt that they are
great songwriters and will
Gingbread Men (Classic
Center Exhibition Hall)
These guys combine funky
rhythms with some rock and
soul, and for what they do,
they're actually pretty darn
good. Opening for their
hero, surely, Tito Puente.
Hazel Virtue (Garden
Stage) This show is free,
and besides, Eric Britt's
anthemic songs should work
quite well in this outdoor en
vironment. 9:30 p.m.
