A RUNG ON THE LADDER: (ad infinitum)
Certain Might Music, a new indie label based in Char
lotte. N.C., is soliciting material from bands tor the
whole "we-sign-you, put-your-record-out, you-be-
come-famous' thing; i.e. they want to hear from you
and your band/project. Their singular interests include
"Modern Rock/Alternative’ and "Dance” (Jungle,
Trance, Acid Jazz, Trip Hop, etc.), and they stress that
they're more or less looking for totally unique bands
(which could be something of a contradiction regard
ing "Modem Rock/Alternative.’ but maybe I’m just snip
ing).... If you need further details before you send off
your p r ecious demo, call 704-370-6500, a' you can
email them at cmight@webserve.net. You can send your
oemos to 301 South College St., 2580 One First Union
Center, Charlotte, NC 28202.

MORE STUFF FROM THE EX-COOUE: God
bless Clay Harper. Over the course of the past yea, Mr.
Harper has released one single a month on his Casino
Royale label, a feat ’hat, given the ogistical nightmare of
putting out anything on vinyl, is don impressive. His latest
single (#10) entitled "Order In The CourtTParked Car’ is
mae a less Mr Harpers commentary on the U S. legal
system and features (get this) former Cameo guitarist
Anthony Lockett along with “The Joy," a backup choir
made up of Jack Logan & Ketty Keneipp, Gary Yoxen (Time
Borrt> 77) and Mark McGee (the Anti-Heroes). Beyond
anything else, I just tha^ it's cool that Logan and a former
member of Cameo are on the same recad, capiche?Fa

whole Casino Music mafioso (subscriptions fa the singles,
interviews, dirty pkes, etc.) write 881 Ponce

this one is a little closer to the Mitch Eas
ter school of Southern cuddly-pop, with
enough of an occasional garage tinge to
make brother Dex proud. Guests on this
here recaded thing include Chris Stamey (db's, who
also assisted in production), Eric Peterson, Andy
McMillan & Sara Romweber (all three from the much-
