Dance Me A Story.
Athens Ballet Theatre presents “Sleeping Beauty" Act III ond “All in a Summer's
Day’ ot the Morton Theatre. March 12-13 at 8 p.m., with matinees on March 13
and 14 at 3 p.m. Tickets ore SI 2, $10 for kids, seniors, ond students.
Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty” is often considered one
of the most beautiful ballets of all time. Athens Ballet
Theatre performs Act III of this timeless fairy tale and exer
cises its own artistic license to make for an utterly original
version Known as “Aurora’s Wedding," this act will be
danced in part to live music provided by the Athena
Woodwind Quintet. The second half of the evening’s perfor-
mace, “All in a Summer’s Day." features familiar fairy tales
and nursery rhymes translated into classical ballet.
Characters include Mother Goose, the Old Woman in the
Shoe, Little Bo Peep, and Mary Contrary. Call 353-2082 for

Almost Home.
Benefit and ouction for the Athens Area Homeless Shelter. At Trumps Ballroom in
the Georgian. Doors open ot 7 p.m. Auction starts at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $15
each, $25 pair.
Even if the bids are higher than your pocket is deep, this
year's benefit for the Athens Area Homeless Shelter
promises to be a night to remember. Jazz musician Mark
Maxwell opens the evening with a performance in the ball
room while classical guitarist Robert Burton entertains
attendees in the Palm Room. The whole gig is fully catered
by Trumps. Items up on the auction block (both silent and
live) include signed balls by Tubby Smith, Vince Dooley, and
Jim Donnan, as well as R.E.M. and Widespread Panic stuff,
local art, vision correcting surgery, flying lessons, and
dozens of other items. Tickets can be purchased at Daily
Groceries. Frontier, Helix, Five Star Day Cafe, The
Homeplace, Definitely Handmade. Book Peddlers, and

St. Poddy's Day.
Irish festivities ot Chateau Clan. 4-8 p.m. Soturday, March 13 ond noon to 6 p.m.
Sunday, March 14. Free admission.
Even if you’re not Irish. St. Patrick’s Day is always a good
excuse to drink lots of quality beer and dance to funny
music. At Paddy’s Irish Pub at Chateau £lan they start the
party early. The whole family is invited to enjoy live Irish
music shipped straight from the Emerald Isle, as well as Irish
dancers, bagpipers, traditional Celtic storytellers, and ail the
authentic Irish ale, stout, and vittles you can pack away.
Chateau Elan Winery and Resort is located in Braselton, only

Children's Chorus.
Georgia Ch,Wren's Chorus Spring Concert. In Hugh Hodgson Holl at UGA's
Performing Arts Center. 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8.
Directed and founded by UGA School of Music professor
Dr. Elizabeth Kimble, the Georgia Children's Chorus fea
tures more than 100 children ages 7-16 from throughout
Northeast Georgia. Their premiere performance, a holiday
concert back in December, was attended by a capacity
crowd and got rave reviews. This evening’s performance
includes songs sung in Latin, Zulu, and Hebrew. For more
