ATHENS SYMPHONY The annual Spring Pops Concert
from the Athens Symphony features a program of
light classical and popular music. The first half
includes selections from Johann Strauss. Antonin
Dvorak and others. After intermission. Jim McKillip
is the featured piano soloist as the orchestra per
forms works by Henry Hanrini, Duke Ellington and
Richard Rogers, among others. Bring your own

Center invites the community to step back in time
and interact with "residents" of circa 1820's Athens
at the Church-Waddel-Brumby House, Athens' oldest

< MULE OAY The annual Mule Day at Shields-
Etheridge Farm provides visitors a historically accu
rate and realistic glimpse into the everyday workings
of a turn-of-the-century farm. Demonstrations of old-
time farming techniques, quilting, blacksmithing and
more will delight young and old alike and area artists
will display their works for sale. A variety of Southern
treats and bar-b-que will also be available. The farm
is a non-profit, historical museum farm complex with
houses, gristmill, schoolhcuse, cotton gin, fully-
stocked commissary, teacher's residence, blacksmith
shop and out buildings. Tours will be available
throughout the day. All proceeds go to the contin
uing restoration of the farm. Shields-Etheridge Farm
