EVENTS ADA TORCH RELAY To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the 25th anniversary of IDEA, the major education act for students with disabilities, the National ADA Torch Relay will pass through Athens. Events begin as the national relay, which is passing through Georgia on its way to Washington, D.C., arrives at the ACC Library, winds its way through downtown, and ends in front of the ACC Courthouse on Washington St. A block party celebration will feature live entertain ment from Pam Blanchard and the Sunny-Side Up Band and educational and informational booths and activities, followed by the presentation of the torch to Mayor Doc Eldridge.
