So heres a generic congratulations to those who won and a fervid thanks to everybody who ran. ADDENDUM This column mentioned last week that Randall Bramblett and Kevn Kinney have songs included on Oxford American Magazine's new Southern Sampler 2000 CD compilation of Southern music. Let it here be added that the Randall Bramblett song was co-written with Jason Slatton, who writes songs, sings and plays guitar with old favorite The Randall Bramblett Band as well as with new favorite The Lures. Jason is one of those Athens guys who just wants to make music, and by gosh he's doing it. A swell guy, that Jason. WATER, WATER Remember when you forgot to pay the water bill and they cut you off on a Friday and you had to make it through the weekend crouching in the shower and bathing with a gallon of your Y2K emergency water? Got pretty clean, didn't you? Sort of like camping. How much water did you use in the shower this morning? Do you leave it running while you brush your teeth? Me too. While you rinse out your tea cup? Me too. That stuff is more precious than premium gasoline, and we're all behaving as if we were SUVs. WELCOME D.J. Hammond just started selling ads for Flagpole.
