PERFORMANCE
CAESAR Theatre Cats presents Caesar, adapted from
the classic tragedy by William Shakespeare. Directed
by W. Steven Carroll. Shakespeare's gripping saga of
ambition, love, betrayal and revenge is retold as a
bloody power struggle during the heyday of orga
nized crime in the 1940's. Seney Stovall Chapel (on
Milledge Ave. beside the Varsity), on Thursday, Aug.

MUSICAL PREMIFRE The Showmaster Stage Troupe
presents a brand new musical. Hold Me. with lyrics
and music written by local resident Griffin Haygood.
The action of the play follows the passengers, cap
tain and crew of a cruise ship, with musical styles
ranging from Broadway showtunes to Latin to
European fotk to Rap. Fun for the whole family.

LIVE RADIO WUGA-FM presents its annual live radio
event, "Once in a Blue Moon." This year's lineup fea-
tu r es local singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt, folk trio
the Solstice Sisters, country rock ensemble Redneck
GReece Deluxe, author Philip Lee Williams and the
House Band, with John James on saxophone. The
evening's performances will be broadcast live all over
Georgia on the Peach State Public Radio Network.

FILM FESTIVAL The FX28 Film Festival is a four hours

< HUMANE SOCIETY The Athens Area Humane
Society presents its "10th Annual Dessert Social &
Auction." Over 60 items are available for bidding
including hang-gliding lessons at Kitty Hawk,
canoe/kayak rental on the Broad River,
boat/wa'.erunner rental at Lake Lanier, bed and
breaktast packages, dinner at area restaurants, ski lift
passes, signed lithographs by national artists and
work by local artists. All proceeds go to the Humane
Society. Ticket price includes paddle for the live auc
tion, coffee and all-you-care-to-eat buffet of gourmet
desserts donated by area restaurants, caterers and
