PERFORMANCE
AIR FORCE BAND The Classic Center presents the Air
Force Reserve Band in concert. This 43-piece
ensemble is the largest and most versatile unit of the
Band of the United State Air Force Reserve and has
traveled all over the world, performing with the likes
of Bob Hope, Faith Hill and Crystal Gayle. Patrons are
asked to bring a donation of canned goods to the
show for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. Classic

CAESAR Theatre Cats presents Caesar, adapted from
the classic tragedy by William Shakespeare. Directed
by W. Steven CarrolL Shakespeare's gripping saga of
ambition, love, betrayal and revenge is retold as a
bloody power struggle during the heyday of orga
nized crime in the 1940's. Seney Stovall Chapel (on
Milledge Ave. beside the Varsity), on Thursday, Aug.

LIVE RADIO WUGA-FM presents its live radio event,
"Once in a Blue Moon." The lineup features local
singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt folk trio the Solstice
Sisters, country rock ensemble Redneck GReece
Deluxe, author Philip Lee Williams and the House
Band, with John James on saxophone. The evening's
performances will be broadcast live all over Georgia
on the Peach State Public Radio Network. UGA

RICHIE HAVENS The Lyndon House Arts Center pre
sents legendary singer Richie Havens in concert. All
proceeds benefit the Lyndon House Arts Foundation,
Inc. This "First Annual Celebration," celebrating the
first anniversary of the renovated arts complex, fea
tures a concert by Havens, with the Common People
Band at the Morton Theatre on Friday, Sept 15 at 8
p.m. On Saturday, Sept 16 the Lyndon House hosts a
silent auction, reception for the Richie Havens
exhibit from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and a VIP dinner with

ROY CARRIER The King of Zydeco returns to Athens
with his band the Night Rockers to play a zydeco
