CONTRA & SQUARE DANCE The Athens Folk Music
and Dance Society sponsors an evening of
contra/square dancing with music by Peavine Creek,

FESTIVAL FOR LIFE A benefit for the AIDS Coalition
of Northeast Georgia, the annual Festival for Life is a
great way to support a great cause. The gourmet
dessert and wine reception will feature casino games
such as blackjack, roulette and craps, and lots of
doorprizes. Lyndon House Arts Center on Saturday,

ST. JOE'S JOG Have a passion for running, walking or
jogging? The Annual St. Joe's Jog 5K with One Mile
Fun Run takes place at the Saint Joseph Catholic
School on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 8:30 a.m. Late regis
tration at 6:30 a.m. race day. Long-sleeved t-shirts
for all advance entrants. Applications to participate

WOMEN IN MUSIC "Women in Music" Industry Panel
and Showcase. Local professionals in the music
industry will discuss careers in music for women.
Panelists include Barrie Buck (owner of the 40 Watt

McGinley, Jennifer Nettles, Jan Smith and Velena

MOORE'S FORD TALENT SHOW Talent Show to cele
brate MLK Day featuring area high school students
competing for cash prizes. The show will help raise
funds for the Moore's Ford Committee's Scholarship
Endowment. There will be songs, music, dramatic
readings and dance. The theme "Live the Dream,
Celebrate the Dream, Achieve the Dream," wilt foci
on Dr. King and his legacy. A silent auction will roi

AILEY II Experience the legacy of African-America
choreographer Alvin Ailey. Ailey II features classic
