ROBERT FRIPP (Melting Point) Ever
the boundary pusher. Robert Fripp got
his start in the 1960s playing in several
groups; eventually he picked up with
several other musicians to form the
monumental King Crimson, the influ
ential prog rock group ol the early '70s.
The League ol Gentlemen followed in
the late '70s Later collaborating with
a slew ol artists, including Brian Eno
and David Bowie. Fripp would dtp into
his King Crimson and League staff,
reforming different incarnations ol the
groups every now and fhen while also
forming his guitar school/performance
group called the League ol Crafty
Guitarists. Fripps solo stuff these days
is more ambient and textural; his per
formance tonight's followed by a G&A
session 8pm
