BLESS ME FATHER... PENANCE WITH A PUNCHUNE
Athens Creative Theatre presents its production cf
Bless Me Father... Penance with a Punch-line. A rol
licking comedy of errors, the play tells of a country
church janitor, trapped in a confessional, who is
mistaken for the Pope by the locals. Memorial Park

EVENTS
ATHFEST 2006 The 10th Annual AthFest is a cel
ebration of everything Athens and AthFest returns
downtown for four days and nights of music, art
and film. Boasting performances from over 100 lo
cal bands at its outdoor stage and during the club
crawl, the festival also includes KidsFest. a juried
artist market. Sprockets Film ♦ Video Competition
(see story on p. 13) and TeenScreen events. New
this year: win a 10-day trip to Cortona, Italy. Raffle
tickets: $100. The whole thing gets started with the
Flagpole Athens Music Awards Show on Thursday,
June 22 at the Morton Theatre, doors at 7:30 p.m.;
show starts at 8 p.m. sharp! Tickets: So advance.

THE 4TH IN FARMINGTON The community's first
annual Independence Day celebration takes place
at the Farmington Community Center on Old
Farmington Road on July 4. 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bring
a picnic dinner or enjoy barbecue by Dan Reed.
Sweets and refreshments will also be available.
Activities include horseshoes, face painting, hay-
rides and a watermelon eating contest. Live music
