collaborated on the Deltron 3030 and
Gorillaz projects, and occasionally
tours with the band Bullfrog. Your

“LATENITE DISCO” (Go Bar) The
house deejay spins a cool mix of
disco. New Wave and modern dance
tunes for a sweaty and energetic crowd

singer Brett Morgan, who usually
performs in an acoustic duo with David
Bell, tonight delivers a solo set.

Now It’s Overheads first two albums.
Now It 's Overhead and Fall Back Open,
combined lush, romantic pop with
hypnotic layers of sound, and the new
album Dark Light Daybreak, released
last month on Saddle Creek Records,
does the same while going a little
more mainstream with the sound, even
sounding at times like U2.
OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW
(Georgia Theatre) The punkified
old-tyme acoustic band draws from
a variety of genres to create music
that is uniquely its own. Laid over
folksy bluegrass melodies. Old Crow
Medicine Show's tunes have plenty
of sloppy punk energy to bounce a
crowd.
ORQUESTA MACUBA (Tasty World
Upstairs) Atlanta's high-energy eleven-
piece Orquesta MaCuba is led by the
husband and wife team of vocalists
Eddie and Mayi Lopez, and swings
through classic salsa as well as origi
nal compositions in the Celia Cruz and
Tito Puente style. 10 p.m.
POSITRAXION (The Globe Upstairs)
Featuring heavily finger-picked electric
guitars, this new local band draws on
classic rock and roll sounds.
RICK FOWLER & FRIENDS (Saving
Grace) This semi-acoustic trio incites
guitarist Rick Fowler, bassist Michael
C. Steele and percussionist Eddie
Glikin, and performs blues originals
and covers at the restaurant in Comer.

NATHAN SHEPPARD (Wild Wing
Cate) Sheppard is known for his
emotive singing style and his modern
reworkings of classic tunes, from Dylan
and Young to Van Morrison. Tonight he
performs solo and acoustic.
VENICE IS SINKING (40 Watt) With
boy/ girl vocals, a cinematic jangle
and a sweeping, emotional punch
courtesy of a viola, Venice is Sinking’s
piano-based torch songs burn bright.
Last year, the local five-piece released
its lush and charismatic debut album
Sorry About the Flowers.
THE WILLIE-T EXPRESS (Georgia
Bar) Hop aboard The Willie-T Express
and catch Barbara Cue guys William
Tonks, Jon Mills and Aaron Phillips

GReece Delux. Jack Logan) and saxo
phonist George Davidson (Acquaviva).

to bring together some of the musi
cians that I've played with over the
years." says Reissiger. “The idea is to
get to hear all my local favorites one
more time.. all of those players who
have inspired and supported me all

members come, go and augment the
performances. The group plays gentle,
acoustic indie folk on its new album

CHRISTOPHER’S LIVER (Caledonia)
Guitarist-vocalist Christopher Ingham
(ex-Heroic Livers, Colostomy Bag) and
drummer-vocalist Laura Swindall play
acoustic pop music that’s been said to
have a lo-fi aesthetic similar to some of
this town’s late-90s output. Early show

FOLKLORE (Caledonia) The fuzzy pop
songs of Jimmy Hughes (Elf Power,
Bugs Eat Books) find backing from
Jon Croxton, Aaron Jollay, Ian Rickert
Raoul De La Cruz and David Specht.

and the band'll play songs off its debut
full-length album The Ghost of H. W.
