ATHFEST 2007 The 11th Annual AthFest is a cele
bration of everything Athens. AthFest returns down
town for four days and nights of music, art and film.
Boasting performances from over 175 local bands
on its outdoor stages and during the club crawl (see
p. 26-27 for music writers' picks), the festival also
includes KidsFest, a juried Artisan Market, Sprockets
Video Competition (see Box), TeenScreen, Self Made
at ATHICA (see p. 15), the WIRED Electronic Music
Festival and much more. The whole thing gets start
ed with the Flagpole Athens Music Awards Show
(see p. 26-27) on Thursday, June 21 at the Morton
Theatre, doors at 7:30 p.m.; show starts at 8 p.m.

AMATEUR RADIO FIELD DAY The community is
invited to come and see what the Amateur Radio
Service is all about. Ham operators will be demon
strating communication techniques that don't use
established infrastructure—ideal during natural di
