Polytheistic Fragments is the sixth
solo album from guitarist Sir Richard
Bishop, the record is a foray into vari
ous world traditions that nevertheless
retains a unified personality. For fans
of John Fahey, Robbie Basho, etc. See

BILL CALLAHAN (40 Watt) Prolific
Midwestern troubadour Bill Callahan—
alternately known as Smog and even
(Smog), but now just going with his
given name—recently released Woke
on a Whaleheart, a swell new record
drawing on pop and gospel while not
completely turning its back on some of
Callahans past sad-sack tendencies.

Confrontational Savannah art-metal
quartet Sinister Moustache (formerly
Gravy) goes heavy on the technical
aspect, playing around with song
structure and time signatures.
SNARKY PUPPY (Farm 255) Nine-
piece jazz/funk/ international band
from Denton, TX, blending a variety of
styles on the sophomore album The
World is Getting Smaller. In September
of ‘06, the band put on a two-night
show at Farm 255, and ills back this
year for a repeat performance.
SOVUS RADIO (Go Bar) Psychedelic
Atlanta four-piece Sovus Radio can
weave airy, multi-tracked vocal lines
through enchanting instruments, or the
group can rock it out with dissonant
yowls and fiery guitars.
