StandOutYouth
helps Children
Affected by
Sugar Refinery
Disaster
A local youth group,
StandOutYouth, has donated
$1535.00 to help the children
who have been adversely
affected by the sugar refinery
disaster. An initial generous
seed donation spurred the
youth to find additional ways to
contribute to this community
outreach project. These youth
wanted to specifically help
other youth, so it was decided
that Hospice Savannah's "Full
Circle Grief and Loss Center"
would receive the funds in
order to assist those youth
whose family members were
victims in the sugar refinery
explosion and fire.
StandOutYouth is a non
profit 501C3 organization serv
ing gay, lesbian, bisexual,
transgender and questioning
youth in Savannah and the
greater metropolitan area.
Social activity meetings are
held every Friday for the youth
and are supervised by at least
two adults. StandOutYouth also
provides educational forums to
foster greater understanding of
LGBTQ concerns; this organi
zation was the lead sponsor of
the recent showing of the film
documentary: “For Tlie Bible
Tells Me So. ” For additional
information, please go to

the board president Bob Dunn
