Spring Time Clothes Give-
Away & Food Sale on
Saturday, March 21,2009
from 9am to 5pm.
Members of the church,
under the project leadership
of Sister Janice Robinson, of
Atlanta, Georgia loaded
tables and clothes lines with
clothes, shoes and household
items, etc. to help the com
munity.
The smells from the
grill on the church lot and
the beautiful weather,
'brought out many people.
This service project was
meant to assist the needy I
with personal attire for the
whole family.
After purchasing a rib,
fish, chicken or pig feet
diner, patrons received tick
ets and the opportunity to
pick something from the vast
amount of articles on the lot.
Hamburgers, hot dogs,
chili and beverages were
also available.
No one was tuned away
for inability to pay.
Many homeless were
fed, clothed and any left over
articles were taken to local
shelters.
Westside Furniture, a
business in the neighbor
hood, purchased dinners and
gave a monetary donation to
the children of the church.
The church succeeded
in helping it's peers and
those who are less fortunate.

Dillard’s Offers Customers a Way to
Support Second Harvest
Dillard's Department
store is offering a creative
way for local shoppers to
help our community and to
save money at the same time.
Dillard's at Savannah
Mall will give shoppers
donating three or more
canned food items a 10% dis
count on their purchases on
April 18th and 19th.
Shoppers desiring to
take advantage of this oppor
tunity to provide food to
local families in need and get
store-wide savings may take
their donated canned goods
to the customer service cen
ter at Dillard's to receive a
discount coupon.
This two-day event is
Dillard's way of saying
“thank you” to shoppers that
support the food bank in its
mission to end hunger. The
food Dillard's collects will go
to America's Second Harvest
food bank to feed at-risk
local families.
Second Harvest relies
on food drives and public
support to make sure the
supply of nutritious food
items are available to keep
our neighbors from going
hungry.
Because of food drives,
volunteers, public support
and other partners, Second
Harvest distributed more than
5.9 million pounds of food
last year to people who need
ed it the most.
