Beating the Odds All Together
(B.O.A.T) to hold Annual
Awareness Day
B.O.A.T is proud to
announce our second annual
Awareness Day event.
Awareness Day is an
end-of-the-year activity to
show students and staff
appreciation and share infor
mation about community
resources and programs,
employment opportunities
and skills.
We want to keep our
students involved in positive
activities throughout the
summer months and provide
A.E. Beach High School
them with information and
community resources that
are available to them and the
entire community.
We are asking all avail
able social service agencies,
churches, youth programs,
employers, neighborhood
associations, churches, and
local entertainers to please
come out and set up at this
event or make a donation.
We will have door
prizes, food, games, enter
tainment, and fun for the
entire community and Alfred
Ely Beach High School on
Saturday June 13, 2009,
from 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m.
Any assistance you can
provide for this effort will be
appreciated. Thank you for

vision of excellence” at

Auditions for f The Wiz f
The City of Savannah's
Cultural Arts Theatre will be
holding auditions for its sum
mer production of "The Wiz,"
May 18 and 19 at 6 p.m. in the
Black Box at S.P.A.C.E., 9 W.
Henry St.
This new musical ver
sion of the classic 'Wizard of
Oz' by L. Frank Baum, fea
tures a script by William F.
Brown and music and lyrics
by Charlie Smalls.
Directed by Ellie Pyle, with
choreography by Muriel
Miller of Abeni Cultural Arts,
the script calls for a diverse
cast of actors, singers and
dancers of all ages and experi
ence.
Auditionees will be asked to
sing sixteen bars from a song
of their choice, and should
come prepared to move.
Callbacks will be held
May 20 at 6 p.m.
The production will be
staged in the Lucas Theater,
July 17, 18, 24 and 25.
