Mitchell Celebrates 35th
Pastoral Anniversary

The officers and mem
bers of Connor’s Temple
Baptist Church held a three-
day celebration in honor of
Rev. Bennie Mitchell and his
35 years of service to the
church.
On May 15, a Sons and
Daughters Night was held,
and the message was deliv
ered by Pastor Eric Mason of
Jesus First Community
Fellowship Church.
On Saturday, May 16, a
banquet was held at the Con-
Ed Resoure Center.
The celebration culmi
nated on Sunday, May 17,
during the church’s Sunday
Morning worship services.
Rev. L. Perry McNeal of
Jerusalem Baptist and
Historic Mount Pleasant
Churches was the guest
speaker.
Congratulations to Rev.
and Mrs. Mitchell on this
important milestone.

Celebration
On Sunday, May 31,
2009, at 11:00 a.m., the
Fountain-Wallace Missionary
Society of Bethel A.M.E.
Church, where the Reverend
Charles W. Purnell is the host
pastor, will have their Annual
Day Celebration.
We are pleased to wel
come Mrs. Reatha J. Stevens as
our speaker - a woman who is
not a stranger to this community.
Mrs. Reatha J. Stevens is a
native of Brooks County,
Georgia, bom the tenth of eleven
children to Ila Lee McCall
Jenkins and Joshua Jenkins, Sr.
She received her early
education in the public schools
of Brooks County, Georgia,
graduating Valedictorian of her
high school class.
She received a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Elementary
Education from Savannah State
College (now University).
She did advanced study at
the University of Georgia-
Athens towards a Masters
Degree in Social Work.
Currently she is a
charter member of New Zion
Independent Methodist Church,
serving as Steward Board Chair,
Superintendent of Sunday
School, Teacher of the Adult
Sunday School class, and
President of the Adult Choir.
Mrs. Stevens is the mother
of three children - one daughter
and two sons - the grandmother
of eight and the great-grand
mother of four.
The public is cordially
invited to attend this wonderful
occasion.
A fellowship dinner will
follow the morning worship
service.
Sister Millie Parker is the
President of the society; Sister
Freddie Mae Hayes is President-
Elect and Program Chairperson.

Rev. Iglehart Eddings
is married to Dr. Joseph L.
Eddings, Sr., a Christian
educator and lay evangelist.
She is the devoted
mother of one beautiful
daughter, three handsome
sons, and ten rambunctious
grandchildren.

Leadership School at Second
Arnold Baptist Church, We are
offering five sessions this year
that will be instructed by eight
dynamic instructors.
Each instructor and the
School are certified through
Nashville.
Pre-registration is under
way (1 class $30.00, 2 classes
$55.00, 3 classes $85.00,4
classes $110.00 and 4 classes
$135.00). Classes will begin
April 27 - June 6, 2009.
There will be Mondays,
Tuesdays and Saturdays.
