Top Teens Hold Annual Awards
Banquet
Head Table at Top Teens Banquet
The Savannah Chapter of
Top Teens of America,
Incorporated (ITA) held its
annual Awards Banquet on
Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at
Carey Hillards Restaurant
on Abercorn Street.
The theme was
"Partnering With Teens
Today, Ensuring Success
Tomorrow".
There were approxi
mately 125 ladies, Lords,
Teens, along with parents,
and friends in attendance.
The graduating seniors,
officers, and other outstand
ing members of ITA were
recognized and honored.
A major highlight of
the evening was the crown
ing of Miss Top Teen 2009-
2010.
This honor was
bestowed upon the lovely
Teen Timeka Armstrong.
The graduating seniors
are identified accordingly:
Teen Algernon Aris, Teen
Chelsea Beasley, Teen Ash
Lynn Crawford, Teen
Charles Frye, Teen Jasmyn
Graham, Teen Camille
Houston, Teen Kendra
Johnson, Teen Curron
Johnson, Teen Timeka
Johnson, Teen Morgan
Robinson, Teen Bianca
Singleton, and Teen JaLisa
Williams.
Teen JaLisa Williams
received the Top Teen
Advisor's and Attendance
Awards.
Miss Top Teen 2009-2010
Timeka Armstrong
Teen Tamika Johnson
was the recipient of the
Highest Grade Point
Average Award and Teen
Algernon Aris received the
Top Teen President's Award.
An excellent program
was planned and executed.
Teen JaLisa Williams, ITA
President, presided over
this elegant affair.
Lady Johnnie Holmes
entertained the audience
with the musical prelude.
The program par
ticipants included the fol
lowing: the welcome by
Teen Curron Johnson;
greetings extended by Lady
Eddie Lee Marsh, President
of the local chapter of Top
ladies of Distinction,
Incorporated (TLOD);
inspirational words were
given by Teen Levelyn
Bridges; a praise dance was
performed by Teens Ash
Lynn Crawford, Camille
Houston, and Kendra
Johnson; a creative original
poem was presented by
Teen Algernon Aris; a
description of "What Top
Teens Mean to Me" was
given by Teen Charles Frye:
and an instrumental clarinet
solo was performed by Teen
Bianca Singleton.
A unique fashion show
was enjoyed by the atten
dees following dinner
which featured the graduat
ing seniors.
The theme for this fea
ture was "Seniors On the
Runway".
The fashions were pro
vided by Mrs. Odessa Grant
from her established busi
ness, A Touch of Africa,
located on Suncrest Avenue.
Lady Tara Scott-
Brown served as narrator.
Special presentations
were made by Lady Versie
M. DuPont, TTA Advisor,
lady Daisy Williams,
Assistant ITA Advisor, and
Teen JaLisa Williams, TTA
President.
Final remarks were
given by Lady (Dr.)
Jacquelyn W. Stephens,
TLOD Organizer of the
local chapter, and by Lady
DuPont.
Best wishes and are
extended to the graduating
seniors in their future
endeavors.

French from Spelman
College in Atlanta, GA and a
Graduate Fellowship in
French Literature from the
University of Illinois at
Urbana/Champaign.
