Men’s Day 2009
Anointed to be King!
Pastor C. MeGill Brown
and the Men of Second Baptist
invites the Savannah commu
nity to share with us during our
Men's Day 2009 Celebration, I
Samuel 16.13a-b "Then
Samuel took the ham of oil,
and anointed him in the midst
of his brethren: and the Spirit
of the Lord came upon David
from that day forward."
The celebration will
begin on Thursday, June 18th,
6:00 pm with our Family
Bowling Night at AMF
Victory Lanes. Everyone is
welcome.
On Saturday, June 20th
at 7:00 pm we will host a
Gospel Concert featuring
some of the best male groups
in the city of Savannah and
special guest Min. E. Joseph
Brack and the 'Perpetual
Praise Chorale.
We will close this cele
bration on Father's Day,
Sunday June 21st at 11:00
with our guest messenger of
the morning Bro. E. Larry
McDuffie. In 1964, E. Larry
founded the Savannah
Community Choir with over
one hundred (100) local voices.
This choir went on to
record more than a dozen
national albums, and travel
throughout the United Stales.
E. Larry taught in the public
school system for 28 years and
three times he was named
Teacher of the Year.

This annual service will
be celebrated throughout the
United states by all men of
the Presbyterian Church,
USA.
As our featured speaker
this year, the men of Butler
will host Mr. Michael Porter,
a product of Chatham
County Schools.
Michael holds a
Masters Degree in Education
from Georgia Southern
University and a Juvenile
Sex Offender Counseling
Certificate from the
University of Louisville
Kent School of Social Work.
He is currently serving
as a Licensed Professional
and Juvenile Sex Offender
Counselor in private prac
tice.
During the service, we
will also recognize the Man
and Young Man of the Year.

Yusuf K. Shabazz, a
member of First New A.M.C.
Church, will deliver his initial
sermon on Father's Day,
Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 5:00
p.m.

Blvd., Savannah, Georgia

Yusuf K. Shabazz is a
native of Savannah, Georgia.
He is the son on Mr. Jimmy
and Mrs. Laura Jackson. He
spent many years of his life
under the tutelage of his grand
father the late Rev. George
Carter, former Pastor of the
historic Shiloh Baptist Church
and the historic Abyssinia
Baptist Church where he also
received ministerial guidance.
These churches are both
located in Savannah, Georgia.
He is also the grandson
of the late Mrs. Catherine
Delmar. Yusuf Shabazz is mar
ried to Chief Bishop Estella
and is the father of four (4)
children, Malika, Madeena,
Yasmin and Yusuf, Jr.
Bro. Shabazz early edu
cational years were spent at the
Ramah Academy.
He was educated in the
Savannah-Chatham County
Public Schools and graduated
from Beach High School in
1980.
Bra Shabazz received a
Bachelor of Science degree in
Civil Engineering from
Savannah State University in
1989.
He is licensed by the
Georgia Secretary of State
Licensing Board for
Residential/General
Contractors as a Residential
Contractor.
He is the owner ofY.E.S.
Design and Construction, Inc.
and the Famous Shabazz
Seafood Restaurant. He has
travelled the world extensive

He is also the Chief Episcopal
Supervisor of the New A.M.C.
