Thompson Named Associate of the
Year By Georgia Utility

Woodville -Tompkins Hall of Fame
Association Presents Check to
Savannah Silver Cheetahs
This year's associate of
the year is an entrepreneur, a
man, and, a business that has
weathered the volatile envi
ronment of the construction
over the past 25 years.
Frankie Thompson,
Frankie Thompson
Enterprises, Inc. (FTE), per
sonifies GUCA involvement
and business leadership and
is this year's Associate
Member of the Year.
Thompson graduated
from Savannah State
University wrth a Bachelor's
Degree in Business
Administration along with a
Minor in Economics. Ever
since his beginnings, Frankie
has lived by his motto:
“Winners never quit and
quitters never win!” His
company was founded in
Savannah but is now located
in the metro Atlanta area.

that stresses patience, hard
work and determination
while being a material sup
plier of pipes, pumps, valves,
water operation and under
ground materials.
Although they are a
small business employing
just five employees, Frankie
Thompson Enterprises, Inc.
spans over eight states in the
Southeast with a vision and
commitment that extends
globally.

Over the past 25 years,
Frankie has overcome many
challenges. His first was to
create credibility and
dependability with the indus
try. The second was to create
a stable revenue flow and
add a flexible workforce that
allows the operations of the
business to match up with
the number of projects
involved in at any given
time.
His current challenge is to
become involved with the
stimulus projects coming out
of Washington.
Frankie understands
that there are issues in the
industry that are the direct
result of the current econom
ic situation, but he views the
utility industry as being in
good shape overall. He
understands that projects that
were once abundant in the
private sector have vanished
and now the ones in the pub
lic sector are being driven by

Scholars
Leron Pace
The National Society of
High Scholars (NSHSS)
recently announced that
Johnson High School stu
dent Leron Pace from
Savannah, Ga, was selected
for membership.
The Society recog
nizes top scholars and
invites only those students
who have achieved superi
or academic excellence.
The announcement
was made by NSHSS
Founder and Chairman
Claes Nobel, a senior mem
ber of the family that estab
lished the Nobel Prizes.
"On behalf of
NSHSS, I am honored to
recognize the hard work,
sacrifice, and commitment
that Leron Pace has demon
strated to achieve this
exceptional level of aca
demic excellence," said Mr.
Nobel. "Leron Pace is now
a member of a unique com
munity of scholars—a com
munity that represents our
very best hope for the
future."
"Our vision is to build
a dynamic international
organization that connects
members with meaningful
content, resources, and
opportunities," stated
NSHSS President James
Lewis. "We aim to help
students like Leron Pace
build on their academic
successes and enhance the
skills and desires to have a
positive impact on the
global community."
Membership in
NSHSS entitles qualified
students to enjoy a wide
variety of benefits, includ
ing scholarship opportuni
ties, academic competi
tions, free events, member-
only resources, publica
tions, participation in pro
grams offered by educa
tional partners, online
forums, personalized
recognition items, and pub
licity honors.
Formed in 2002, The
National Society of High
School Scholars recognizes
academic excellence at the
high school level and
encourages members of the
organization to apply their
unique talents, vision, and
potential for the betterment
of themselves and the
world.
Currently, there are
more than 300,000 Society
members in over 120 coun
tries. NSHSS provides
scholarship opportunities
for deserving young peo
ple. Leron is
the son of Leroy and
Gwenetta Pace, Jr., and is a
member of the Second
Arnold Missionary Baptist
Church. He also partici
pates with the Savannah-
Chatham Silver Cheetahs
Track and Field Team.

Frankie states,
“Companies need to react to
this.” Since Frankie
Thompson Enterprises, Inc.
has traditionally been
involved in public projects,
his challenge and goal is to
become more involved in
these projects being driven
out of our nation's capitol.
Frankie reaffirms his
optimism by stating, “The
population continues to grow
increasing demand both here
in the U.S. and abroad.
Domestically, we need to
address this increased
demand and at the same time
rework the old infrastructure
to take advantage of the
newer and greener technolo
gy. FTE's challenge is to be
able to have sources for the
newer products demanded by
our clients."
Frankie isn't all busi
ness. He enjoys the simple

The Woodville-
Tompkins High Hall of Fame
recently made a presentation
to the Savannah Silver
Cheetahs in the amount of
$1000.00.
The Woodville-
Tompkins High School Hall
of Fame Association, Inc.
was started in 2003 to recog
nize the accomplishments of
Wolverines to the school, the
Savannah Community and to
the communities where they
presently reside. It recog
nizes the classes from 1950 to
1989.
Each year the Hall of
Fame Association gives char
itable donations to organiza
tions in our community to
help meet the needs of youth.
The Hall of Fame
Banquet will be held
September 11, 2009, in the
Eden Room of the Temple of
Glory Community Church.
