Price, Slaughter Wed
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Slaughter, Jr.
Taniqna Jonai Price, and
Ronald David Slaughter
exchanged marriage vows on
June 20 at the United House of
Prayer for All People, 1805
Ogeechee Road.
Apostle R.I. White,
Pastor officiated the service.
Taniqua, the daughter of Shirley
Jenkins Price and Calvin Price,
chose Verlynda Slaughter
Thompson and Demaris Hall-
Manor as Matrons of Honor.
Janelle Meadows served as Maid
of Honor. Bridesmaids included
Kenisha Brown, Beverly
Dumas, Czekehia Brown, and
Nikiya Clanton. Flower Girls
were Don’Moni Thomas, Zanya
Jenkins and Zalaya Jenkins.
Ronald, the son of Ms.
Verlynda Slaughter, and Mr. and
Mrs. Ronald and Quinn Slaughter,
Sr. chose Bernard Pinkney and
Terrance Greene as Best Men.
Groomsmen included Calvin
Price, Jr., Taurin Watkins, Ryan
Price, and Lydell Price.
Ryan Price, U and Kran
Futch served as ring bearers.
Calvin Price, U nephew of the
Bride, announced the bride’s
arrival. Hostesses included
Ronecia Johnson, and LaShaye
Brown.
Taniqua is the granddaugh
ter of Elder and Mrs. Alex Jenkins,
and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Price.
Ronald is the grandson
of Mrs. Joan Washington, and
the late Mr. Willie
Washington, and Mrs.
Tommie Jean Reisner, and the
late Mr. Ronald Slaughter.
The couple will reside
in Savannah.

Charm School for Prospective Alpha
Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Debutantes
The season has offi
cially begun. Alpha Phi
Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is
pleased to announce the
Prospective Debutantes for
2009.
Their names are as

The young ladies par
ticipated in Charm School
June 17, 18, and 19, 2009
that was held at the EOA
Building on May Street.
Each night we started with
Inspirational readings by
the Alphabettes.
The first night the
Prospective Debs were
guided through the
Debutante Handbook. They
learned about Etiquette,
Self esteem and developing
and maintaining healthy
relationships. There was
consultation on Wardrobe
planning, Cell phone and E-
mail etiquette. Instruction
on Hair and Nail Care was
provided by the Lovely
ladies of Cora's Beauty
Salon.
The second night the
ladies were given an
informative lecture by
Christina Gibson from the
Chatham County Health
Department on “Living a
Healthy First Year in
College”.
The young ladies were
encouraged to make healthy
lifestyle choices now that
will have a positive affect
on their future.
The third nights there
were various speakers on
topics ranging from
Positive Money Habits to
becoming involved in Civic
Organizations on Campus.
Kenielle Morris spoke on
“What to expect your first
year of College”. The young
ladies also received instruc
tions on Receiving Lines
and Introductions for the
Cotillion.
The Parents who
came each night were also
quite involved in helping to
plan for the Social Event
that is planned for July 31 st
at the King-Frazier
Complex on Savannah State
University Campus.
As a part of Charm
School the Prospective
Debutantes and their par
ents participated in Worship
Service on June 28th at
Butler Presbyterian Church.
During the upcoming
months, the young ladies
will also be out in the com
munity soliciting ads and
patrons.
Funds from these
solicitations will go towards
scholarships that will be
awarded on the night of the
Cotillion in December
2009. Please make a posi
tive response if you are
approached.
