Celebrities Launch Johnny Mercer
Centennial Fund Raiser

Angela Beasley and her
Puppet People — “Ruby
Pearl” and “Johnny Mercer”
— join in for a Celebrity
Fundraiser at Chick Fil A,
Savannah Mall only, to ben
efit the Johnny Mercer
Centennial. The non-profit
501-C3 organization will
receive a percentage of their
sales during the hours of 5-
8 pm.
Now busy soliciting
tips from family, friends and
community supporters, the
Celebrity Wait Staff will be
available to serve Chick-
Fil-A guests from 6-7 pm.
Celebrity
waiters include: "Big

The W.W. Law Circle
of Friends Legacy Breakfast
was held on Saturday,
August 8 at the Ralph Mark
Gilbert Civil Rights Museum
Annex.
Shown above is local
artist Artie Milton presenting
a portrait to Mrs. Eloria
Gilbert.
Mrs. Gilbert served
as keynote speaker for the
breakfast. Mrs. Gilbert, a
retired educator and civil
rights activist, has a com
pelling behind the scenes
story representative of the
contribution of women in the
civil rights movement.
She was a longtime
friend of W.W. Law and con
tinues to be supportive of his
work and the work of the
Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil
Rights Museum, named for
her late husband.
The breakfast launched
W. W. Law Foundation
2009-2010 annual fundrais
ing campaign themed
"Continue Passing the Torch:
Let's Preserve the Life and
Legacy of W. W. Law
Together."
Milton, a Savannah
native, is a 1982 graduate of
SCAD, and a 1989 graduate
of the Maryland Institute of
Art in Baltimore, Maryland.
