Clarence “Sey Hey”Maxwell Honored
for Contributions to the Community
Mr. Clarence “”Sey Hey” Maxwell, (c), celebrates as County Commissioner James
Holmes (1), State Representative Mickey Stephens (r), and Alderman Clifton Jones, Jr.
On August 11, 2009 a
large group of friends and
family gathered at Sey Hey
and Mary's Sports Inn and
Lounge, 2507 Bull Street to
recognize Mr. Maxwell for
his many contributions to
various organizations and
individuals in the Savannah
look on.
community.
Mr. Maxwell has given
unselfishly to the community
he loves by providing fian-
cial aid, political support,
food, clothing and other
necessities such as shoes.and
school supplies to children.
Because of his willing
ness to help so many in so
many ways, it was decided
that some of his friends ren
der words and expressions
that he so rightly deserves.
The event was spear
headed by Mr. Nathaniel
"Baldy" Kearse.
The Georgia
Outstanding Citizen Award
was presented to Mr.
Maxwell by District 161
State Representative Mickey
Stevens from Secretary of
State Karen Handel.
Additional remarks con
gratulating and thanking Mr.
Maxwell for his humanitarian
efforts in the community
were given by 2nd District
Chatham County
Commissioner James Holmes
and 5th District Alderman
Clifton Jones, Jr. City of
Savannah.
Mr. Maxwell has a big
heart and gives back to his
community on a regular
basis; we, thank him for all
he does for others and may
God forever bless him.

Miller Earns Field Grade Promotion of
Lieutenant Colonel
Major David D. Miller
has been promoted to the
Field Grade command rank
of Lieutenant Colonel.
Lieutenant Colonel Miller
serves as the Mission
Support Group Commander
of the Combat Readiness
Training Center (CRTC),
Savannah's unique military
air training facility, and an
element of the Georgia Air
National Guard, headquar
tered at Savannah
International Airport.
Lt. Col. Miller, a native
of Parma, Idaho, was initial
ly commissioned in the Air
National Guard in 1994,
serving in the Idaho Air
National Guard's 190th
Lt. Col. David Miller
Fighter Squadron of the 124
Fighter Wing, Gowen Field,
Idaho as a F-4G Weapon
Systems Officer.
He was assigned to the
Idaho Air National Guard's
189th Airlift Squadron as a
Navigator in 1996.
Accepting ever increasing
levels of responsibility and
command, he joined the
Georgia Air National Guard
in 1997, serving as the Range
Control Officer of Townsend
Air to Ground gunnery range,
Townsend, GA, an augment
of the Combat Readiness
Training Center.
Lt. Col. Miller is a grad
uate of Boise State
University, Boise, ID and the
Academy of Military
Science, McGhee-Tyson
ANGB, Tennessee. He and
his wife, Lisa, and their two
children currently reside in
Richmond Hill, GA.

at St. James AME
The Beautiful Minds
After School Program at St.
James AME Church will
offer homework tutorials for
Pre-K through 12th grade, as
well as CRCT, SAT, ACT,
and High School Graduation
Preparatory Workshops.
We will also offer an
afternoon snack and a hot
dinner daily; and will pro
vide pick-up service for an
additional fee. The program
will begin on September 1,
2009 during the hours of
3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and
will continue throughout the
school year.
