St. Philip’s Vacation Bible
School was Successful for
Adults and Youth
Over the next few
weeks, The Savannah
Tribune will run a series that
chronicles the events of the
Vacation Bible School held
at St Philip A.M.E. Church.
The series will look at the
Bible School from the per
spective of the adults and
students.
This year St. Philip's
Vacation Bible school moved
into a different direction.
Unlike the previous years that
I attended bible school, the
vacation bible school com
mittee decided to create top
ics for the youth and adult
classes to discuss.
The topics were the fol
lowing: attitude and rules, the
importance of being a good
friend, stewardship, and con
flict.
When I attended each
class session, I enjoyed being
able to discuss, share, and
learn about problems that I
face in my life. I felt that the
information that my class and
I discuss from each lesson
can be very useful to make
me become a better person.
The theme for vacation
bible school was :Using
God's Word to handle today's
problems: Doing the right
thing".
Even though I had a
great time learning about use
ful tools of making myself
become a better Christian, I
felt that the committee
should've had more youth not
just from St.Philip but youth
from the Savannah communi
ty to attend our bible school.
The theme clearly states
that our bible school will use
God's word to handle today's
problems. However, the
information that we covered
in vacation bible school can
help people from the commu
nity become closer to God
and have great time doing it.
I challenge the commit
tee to set a goal of how many
people you want to attend
vacation bible school for the
upcoming year because we
aren't just suppose to learn
about God with our church
family members, but instead
spread the news of God to his
people.
