A Message from
the President
Greetings!
On behalf of the students, faculty, staff and administra
tion, I welcome you to Homecoming 2009. This special
event promises to be one of the most exciting celebrations
yet. We look forward to having our many alumni and sup
porters return each year to fellowship with classmates and
friends, and take note of the growing campus.
As this homecoming will recognize the 60th anniversary
of the Savannah State University National Alumni
Association’s charter, I commend the members for their
commitment to their alma mater. Their ongoing support
for increased student scholarships, student initiatives and
academic expansion on all fronts is crucial.
During this celebration, I hope you will find time to tour
the campus and speak with our students. They are excited
about what is happening at Savannah State. We believe we
are adding value to their lives and continuing the proud
tradition of excellence.
Best regards for a safe and enjoyable celebration.
Sincerely,
Earl G. Yarbrough Sr., Ph.D., President
