James Bignon com

gle and a series of Public
Service Announcements
(PSA’s) to help increase
organ and tissue donations
within religious communi
ties. Bignon stated, "That
organ and tissue donation in
a format designed to inform
is key to saving the lives of
women, men, and children in
our region."
James Bignon along
with the Deliverance Mass
Choir and Bobby Howard, a
kidney transplant recipient
and Multicultural Education
Manager for the LifeLink of
Georgia Foundation and a
former NFL team member
for the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers, toured through
out the State of Georgia
partnering with Clergy mem

rounding organ and tissue
donations.
Church members, fam

sanctuaries around the State
to witness the musical min
istry of James Bignon and
the Deliverance Mass Choir
and to hear moving testi
monies by organ recipients
and donor families.
The “Gift of Life
Gospel Concert” tour is the
brainchild of Bobby Howard
and has proven to be an
effective call to action
method. Several artists have
joined the campaign includ
ing: Bishop Paul S. Morton,
Luther Barnes and the Sunset
Jubilaires, LaShun Pace,
Trinity 5:7 and R&B sensa
tion Dwele.
National Donor
Sabbath initially launched
by the United States
Department of Health and
Human Services in 1997,
was established to unite the
church and transplant com
munities to raise awareness
of the urgent need for organ
and tissue donors and to dis
pel fears about the incompat
ibility of certain religious
beliefs and donation drives.
All major denominations in
the United States support
organ and tissue donation, in
the spirit of giving and as an
expression of compassion
for others and love.
LifeLink of Georgia is
an independent non-profit
organ and tissue recovery
organization dedicated to
serving patients in need of
transplant therapy and their
families.
Throughout the month
of November LifeLink will
be encouraging faith-based
communities throughout the
State to focus on the lifesav
ing results of organ donation.
