SSU to Observe World AIDS Day
Lonely .continued from page 5
Savannah State
University will observe
“World AIDS Day” on Dec.
1, 2009, with free HIV testing
and a concert/monologue by
Miss Lucia, a Savannah
entertainer, in her first, full-
length solo debut.
From 8 a.m. until 4
p.m., free HIV testing will be
conducted by the Chatham
County Health Department at
the Harris- McDew Student
Health Center. At 7 p.m. in
the King-Frazier Student
Center ballroom,
Miss Lucia will take the stage
to perform songs and mono
logues inspired by her
Colombian heritage and
upbringing in the African-
American church. The con
cert is free and open to the
public.
Bom Sara Lucia Agiiero
Jahannes, Miss Lucia began
performing at an early age by
singing at her father’s church.
She represented Georgia in
the Miss Latina U.S.
Competition in 2007. A 2005
graduate of Savannah
Country Day School, Lucia
attended Wagner College in
New York City where she
earned a degree in psycholo
gy in May of 2009.
SSU’s observance of World
Aids Day is made possible
through the “Get In the
Know” HIV/AIDS/Substance
Abuse and Hepatitis
Awareness program, which
dates back to 2005. The pro
gram is funded by the Center
for Substance Abuse
Prevention, an agency of the
United States Health and
Human Services Department,
and is administered by
McFarland and Associates of
Washington, D.C.

mixtures of fruit flooding the
room, or I would see tiny
bubbles of light coming
towards me with words of
different languages written
within lighted bubbles. I
can hear the voice of God as
I pray and get into His
presence as one. Oh! How
awesome it is to have a rela
tionship with the Lord and
His Holy Spirit. Then as I
begin to read His Word they
become Life, and Spirit. I
laugh, I cry. He may tell me
to relay messages to people
and they wonder how I knew
but what God says to them
comes to pass - sometimes a
day or two or some weeks or
months but it happens just as
God said it would.
Yes, I am lonely, but
Never alone. I have Jesus as
my personal Savior and Lord
of my life and I yield to no
other cadence. He is So
Real. He is so Wonderful
and He loves you and you
and you!!! If you don't know
Him, just open up your heart
to Him and let Him in. He is
standing at the door of your
heart waiting because He
wants you to come willingly.
It's a free choice - “Choose
you this day whom you will
serve. As for me and my
house, we will serve the
Lord.” Joshua 2; 15
You have only to
believe! Have Faith in God!
He created you and wants
you to return to Him so that
you may have a home in
Heaven one day with Him. I
plead with you - Don't let the
devil take you to Hell with
him for that is his destiny!
Come out of the fire, live in
pleasure for eternity.
Make Jesus you Lord
now by simply saying - Lord,
Jesus, forgive me of all my
sins and come into my heart
as my Redeemer. I believe
you died for my sins and
made a way for me and I
accept you now sincerely in
your name, Jesus. Amen.
God Bless you always,
Mama Rachel Thomas,
