The 100 Black Men of
Savannah, Inc. has elected
Lloyd A. Johnson president
for a two-year term com
mencing January 1, 2010.
Chapter members also
elected Terry Enoch vice-
president; Christopher
Corinthian, secretary; Lonnie
Chestnut, treasurer; and Ken
Boler, parliamentarian. The
Johnson
newly-elected officers will be
formally installed into office
at a public ceremony on
Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at
5:30 p.m. at the Mercer
Auditorium of Memorial
Health University Medical
Center's Hoskins Research
Center, E. 66th St. and
Ranger St., Savannah.
Asked about his goals
for the Savannah 100,
Johnson noted that “We are
challenged to implement our
new national strategic plan of
“Mentoring Across a
Lifetime”, which adds leader
ship development as the fifth
component to our signature
programs of economic devel
opment, education, health &
wellness, and mentoring.”
Johnson retired as a sen
ior prosecutor in Prince
George's County, Maryland
and served as counsel and
subcommittee staff director in
the U.S. House of
Representatives and director
of Columbia University's
Urban Center. Founded in
1996, the 100 Black Men of
Savannah, Inc. is an IRS non
profit organization which,
through its varied mentoring
programs, provides education,
mentoring, health & wellness,
and economic development
services to Savannah youth,
their families and communi
ties. The Savannah chapter is
one of 110 chapters world
wide of the 100 Black Men of
America, Inc., which serves
over 100,000 youth across the
U.S., and in the Caribbean,
Europe, and Africa.
