Perry Named Director of Development
at SSU
Stewart to Graduate from Savannah
Country Day School
H. Lee Perry
Savannah State
University (SSU) has named
Henry Lee Perry Jr. as the
new Director of
Development for the
Division of University
Advancement.
As the Director of
Development, Perry will be
responsible for increasing
private support for SSU,
managing fundraising com
pliance and overseeing the
activities of the grant spe
cialist in the Division of
University Advancement.
The immediate past
president of the 100 Black
Men of Savannah, Perry has
held positions in the banking
and finance industry, most
recently in commercial lend
ing at Carver State Bank.
Perry is a recent gradu
ate of Leadership Savannah
and has sat on several boards
in Savannah. Most notably
he has served as a board
director with the Savannah
Area Chamber of
Commerce, Past Board Chair
of Oglethorpe Charter
School, and currently an
executive board member
with Early College.
Perry received his
Bachelors of Business
Administration in
Accounting at Savannah
State University. Perry also
holds a General Securities
License (Series 7), Uniform
Securities State Law License
(Series 63), and a Uniform
Investment Law License
(Series 65). Perry certifica
tions extend to Estate
Planning and Wealth
Preservation which he
received from the Cannon
Wealth Training Institute
Leadership Savannah Class of 2010-
2011 Applications Being Accepted
Applications for the
2010-2011 Leadership
Savannah Class are currently
being accepted. This will be
a one year class. Leadership
Savannah seeks to inspire
individual leadership growth
by providing the learning
experiences that lead to a
better understanding of our
community and preparation
for meeting community chal
lenges of the present and
future. Applications will be
accepted through Monday,
June 14.
The 2010-2011 class will be
limited to 42 people. The
Selections Committee is
seeking representation from
a cross-section of the com
munity. These leaders and
potential leaders will be
active in business, education,
the arts, religion, govern
ment, community-based
organizations, ethnic and
minority groups and will
reflect the diversity of the
community. Applicants must
have the full support of their
organization or corporation
they represent.
The programs are being
finalized but are expected to
consist of monthly interac
tive sessions lead by top
community experts within
their fields. Sessions are
expected to begin in
September 2010 and con
clude in June of 2011.
Applicants will be expected
to attend all of the sessions in
order to graduate. All appli
cants must go through selec
tions and full program fees
will be $2,500, with a limited
number of $1,000 scholar
ships available based on
need.

William Stewart. Jr.
William is the son of
Mr. & Mrs. Paul W. Mosley,
Sr. He is an honor student at
Savannah Country Day
School where he is a member
of the Cultural Diversity
Group, plays basketball and
runs track.
William is Vice
President for the Savannah
Teen Chapter of Jack and Jill
of America, Inc., serves on
the Ronald McDonald Teen
Advisory Board and EOA
Youth Council.
Formerly William held
memberships in the NAACP,
Coastal Conservation
League and Coastal Jazz
Association. Previously,
William served as Vice
President of the Freshmen
and Sophomore class and
Head Counselor for the
Harambee Enrichment
Program. William has served
as Foundation Chair and 2
terms as Treasurer for the
Savannah Teen Chapter of
Jack and Jill.
He was also appointed
to the Southeastern Region
Teen Advisory Board of Jack
and Jill of America, Inc.
William's honors and awards
include Who's Who of
American High School
Students, National Academy
of Scholars, Savannah
Chapter of Jack and Jill of
America, Inc. Oratorical
Winner for 2007 & 2010,
Hornet Spirit Award and rec
ognized by Georgia Institute
of Technology as most inno
vative during the Savannah
Engineering Academy.
William's athletic hon
ors include 2nd Team All
Region, Best Offensive
Player of the Year, Best
Defensive Player of the Year,
Free Throw Award, letter-
man for Track, 2nd Year
Letterman for Basketball and
Savannah's All Star
Basketball Team.
William has served as a
panelist featuring the
renowned Coach Carter and
was featured on Savannah's
television WTOC for Dr.
King's I Have A Dream.
In addition, William is a
member of Speedwell United
Methodist Church youth
group where he participated
in the Dare You to Move
South Georgia Youth
Celebration.
He is the recipient of
the Grandy Presidential
Scholarship, International
Longshoreman Association
Local 1414 and the Junior
League Kids Who Care
Scholarship. William plans
to major in Civil Engineering
at Auburn University in the
fall. Congratulations William
