CHURCH NEWS AND OTHER FEATURES
Road to Nowhere!
Evangelist Rachel Thomas
One day I packed my bags
and left husband, three children
and a job, and took Highway 1-
95; but as I drove; it got very
foggy and I could not see very
well. I saw a motel, so I pulled
over to wait until the next morn
ing.
As I readied myself for
bed, I saw this large card on the
table which had a word from
Scripture that completely
changed my life. I did not know
at that time that it would contin
ue to work all through my new
born days.
It said, "Be Still and Know
that 1 AM GOD," (Ps. 46:10). I
went to sleep, but upon awaken
ing the next morning, those
words came at me again, and
there was a ministerl s name and
number on the card so I called.
He advised me to take the road
back home, and I am sure he did
not know it at the time, but God
used him to direct me to the
Road to Life, because I was
headed on the Road to Nowhere.
I had no plans, but God did!
I started again to leave,
when the Holy Spirit took the
steering wheel and headed me
back home.
Jesus started me on the
Road to Everlasting Life. He
purged me and cleansed me.
taught me through His powerful
Word which was rooted and
grounded into me by the Holy
Ghost, and I became a brand
New Creature in Christ Jesus
when I had a personal encounter
with Him (Il.Cor. 5:17).
The old things did pass
completely away, and Jesus
gave me New life-a life I never
knew existed because I was
blind and foolish, living a life of
sin and evil, going Nowhere!
The life I live today is
complete in Him. He supplies
my every need and gives me my
heart's desires. I love the Lord
today, because He first loved me.
My eyes are open to the ways of
God, and I know without a doubt
that I know where I am going (I
In. 5:13).
I am on the Road to
Eternal Life with Jesus, and I
would like to invite you to come
along with me. There is plenty of
room. Just put your trust in
Jesus, and ask Him to become
your guide on the Road to
Heaven — Highway 7-UP!
Pray this prayer. . . Lord
Father God, forgive me of my
sins against you, and make me a
new creature in Christ Jesus. To
become your child , in Jesus’
name, Amen!

Holy Days and Holy
Witnesses Agree
Dr. Deborah Y. Fonteneau
It doesn’t happen that
often, but this year, both
Western Christians and
Eastern Orthodox Christians
celebrate Holy Week and
Easter on the same days.
Similarly, the Jewish
Passover, begins at sundown,
Monday, April 18, 2011, and
ends the day after Easter,
April 25.
The sun and moon
alignment this year means
religions that follow a solar
calendar are in sync with
those that follow a lunar cal
endar. When the heavenly
planets so strongly agree
about spiritual time, people
of faith, are encouraged to be
aligned with God’s decree:
“Love one another”. Isaiah’s
prophetic call: “Come let us
reason together” (Is.1:8) is an
appropriate watchword.
This year, people of
faith need to settle controver
sies through love, reason and
logical thinking, or become
captive to disagreements.
God’s love is a logical argu
ment. The planets have spo
ken, signifying God’s recon
ciliation of heaven and earth;
therefore, let us be reconciled
to one another (2 Cor. 5:17-
19).
HOLY DAYS and HOLY
WEEK
Palm Sunday is the last
Sunday before Easter, and the
first day of Passion, or Holy
Week. The story of Christ’s
triumphal ride into Jerusalem
(Luke 19:28-44) is celebrat
ed. Christian worshippers
around the world, process
into churches waving palm
branches , singing praises to
Jesus Christ, the Redeemer.
Some palms are set aside to
be burned for the following
year’s Ash Wednesday serv
ice.
Easter always occurs the
first Sunday after the first full
