Esther F. Garrison
Presents Play
The Esther F. Garrison
School of Visual and

their spring theatrical pro
duction, The Princess and the
Pea, written by Michele L.
Vacca and under the direc
tion of Melissa Poole, on
Friday, April 27th, 2012 at
7pm and Sunday, April 29th,
2012 at 3pm. General

are $5 for adults and $3 for

Under the direction of the
Artistic Director, visual arts
teacher, Adele Hughes, over
70 students, parents, and
SCAD volunteers have col

the scenery, props and cos
tume design. The Princess
and the Pea includes a cast
and crew of over 60 Garrison
students. This production of
The Princess and the
Pea could not have happened
without tremendous parent
support and involvement.
The Princess and the
Pea is a comedic version of
Hans Christian Anderson's
short story. Prince Valiant,
son of King Maximillian of
Maxwell-by-the-Sea, has
come of age and is sent on a
quest in search of a bride by
the wisest gypsy in the king
dom, Esmeralda.
Accompanied by his loyal
squire, Sir Donald Dunce,
and armed with a scroll of
proverbs from his grand
mother, Old Queen Maude,
Prince Valiant encounters a
vast array of very interesting
princesses. Prince Valiant
wonders if he will ever find
the
one princess, and, if so, will
she be able to pass Granny's
secret test. Esther F.
