Fort Valley State 26,
Clark Atlanta 3
Fort Valley State used its no
huddle offense to score on
its first two possessions and
never looked back in its 26-
3 victory over Clark Atlanta
on September 15 at Wildcat
Stadium. Jonquez Sanders
and Germaine Taite each had
touchdown runs in the first
quarter, while Fort Valley’s
defense provided the spark
in the second quarter. DaJuan
Williams read Clark Atlanta
quarterback Charles King’s
swing pass and snatched it
out the air for a 32-yard in
terception return to give the
Wildcats a 21-0 lead early
in the 2nd quarter. Williams
finished the game with two
interceptions for Fort Valley.
CAU moved the ball well in
the third quarter. Turnovers,
however, and a slowed run
game was the Achilles heel
for the Panthers. Kicker Aus
tin Castillas put the Panthers
on the board with a 20-yard
held goal midway through
the fourth quarter. Fort Val
ley finished with 219 yards
of total offense, while Clark
finished with 169 yards, due
to (-minus) 49 yards rushing.

high 15 tackles for Clark At
