ONITED WAY OF THE COASTAL EMPIRE 2012
CAMPAIGN HITS 45 PERCENT OF GOAL

Halfway through
its campaign, United Way of
the Coastal Empire reports it
has raised $3,957,523 or 45
percent toward the commu
nity wide goal of $8,777,007
to help people in the Coastal
Empire community. The
campaign ends on November
16, 2012.
With four weeks
remaining until the conclu
sion of the campaign, 2012

president of Thomas & Hut
ton, reported the results dur
ing a festive Mid-Campaign
Rally held today at Monterey
Square.
Since early Septem
ber, hundreds of coiporate
and community volunteers
have spent thousands of hours
canvassing the Coastal Em
pire area to help United Way
reach its goal. Funds raised
during the annual campaign
help support human service
programs that improve the
lives of people in Bryan, Cha
tham, Effingham and Liberty
Counties. Priority funding
goes to successful programs
in the issue areas of Educa
tion & Youth Development,
Economic Independence,
Health & Wellness and Basic

Authority will hold its Second
Annual Family Conference at
the Savannah Riverfront Mar-
riot, 100 McIntosh Blvd. Nov.

The keynote speaker will
be Judge Glenda A. Hatchett.
Judge Hatchett has presented
leadership sessions for vari
ous companies including Pep
siCo, Procter and Gamble,
Georgia-Pacific, Wal-Mart
and Hospital Corporation of
America Inc. Judge Hatchett
presides over the two-time
Emmy nominaated syndicat
ed show, “Judge Hatchett,”
now in its 12th season ( Sony
PicUtres Television).

Prism Award for Best Un
scripted Non-Fiction Series or

Vote” campaign, the Savan
nah Branch, The Savannah
Chapter of The Links, and
several community organiza
tions, have collaborated with
several chinches to provide
free transportation for Early
Voting on Saturday, Octo
ber 27th. The “This Is My
Vote, and I Am Riding With
It” Campaign is designed to
provide FREE Transportation
for eligible voters who live
in several sections of Savan
nah, and take them to the two
locations that will be open
for the ONLY SATURDAY
Early Voting Day in Chatham
County. The locations are

E, and the Southwest Library
(Savannah Mall), 14097 Ab-
ercom St., Savannah, GA
