Hand in Hand - A support
system for children in fami
lies affected by cancer helps
children deal with the un
certainty, stress and anxiety
when a parent or loved one
faces cancer.
Cancer in a parent or other
caregiver exposes the family
to a crisis situation in which
a parent or caregiver is often
overwhelmed with how to
deal with issues concerning
the children while also bat
tling cancer. Hand in Hand
is a two-part program to help
children when a parent or
other caregiver becomes ill
with a life threatening disease
like cancer. This group meets
the third Wednesday of each
month from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m
at The Lewis Cancer & Re
search Pavilion, 225 Candler
Drive (across from Candler
Hospital). Meeting takes
place in second floor confer
ence room. Next session is
