Berean Association
115th Adjourned Session
Bishop James Rodgers Rev. Clarence Williams
The Executive Board, Pastors, Moderator, and
Members of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association,
Inc. will convene for the 115th Adjourned Session on Jan
uary 23, 2016 at 2nd Ebenezer Baptist Church for evan
gelism, church enrichment sessions, business, and youth
activities.
The Berean Association has 51 member churches
with a membership of more than 15, 000 plus persons and
growing. Pastor Ricardo Manuel will be this year’s host
pastor.
On Friday, January 22, 2016, Bishop James Rod
gers will deliver the Evangelistic sermon at 7:00 PM. Rev.
Romaine Bennett is coordinator for evangelistic activities.
On Saturday, January 23, 2016, the 115th Ad
journed Session will open with a Bible Institute and contin
ue with a business period, public awareness presentations,
Women’s Auxiliary and Laymen’s Auxiliary in session at
1:00 PM. Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon. There will be
presentations from their partners: Queensboro Bank, New
Generation Bible School & Seminary, American Red Cross,
Savannah Regional Central Labor Council, Shaw Universi
ty and Youth Futures Authority. Deacon Julius Green will
deliver his first annual address as president of the Berean
Association Laymen’s Auxiliary at 2:30 PM.
Church Registration is $75 and all children &
youth are included. Other registrations are: $25 per church
missions, $12.00 per Clergy and $7.50 per delegate.

First Annual Women’s
Healthy Start Health Fair
House of Hope International Deliverance Minis
try Women of Influence would like to invite the community
to their First Annual Women’s Healthy Start Health Fair on
January 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. This is a tree
event and open to the public. Their purpose and goals for
this event are to bring health awareness to the local commu
nity. They will have several organizations sharing informa
tion on diet, nutrition, mental health, breast cancer aware
ness, and more. They will have on-site Blood pressure and
glucose screenings, massages, and tree giveaways! The

honors in 1987 and from
Morehouse College with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in
Religion in 1992. In April,
1994, Rev. Ellis heeded the
call to preach and deliv
ered his initial sermon at
First Bryan Baptist Church.
Soon after, he enrolled at
the Eastern Baptist Theo
logical Seminary, graduating
with a Master’s of Divinity
degree in 1997. Further, he
has received a certificate in
executive leadership from
the Harvard Divinity School
Summer Leadership Institute
m 2000.
Reverend Ellis
serves as the pastor of Hurst
United Methodist Church in
the Chattanooga district. It is
the oldest African-American
congregation north of the
river. Pastor Ellis has been a
guest preacher and revivalist
for many occasions in and
out of the city. He is a mem
ber of the Alpha Phi Alpha
Fraternity, Incorporated.
Rev. Ellis III is
the proud son of Rev. and
Sister Edward Lamar Ellis,
Jr., Pastor Emeritus of the
Historic First Bryan Baptist
Church.
Rev. Ellis is mar
ried to the former Gena N.
Roberts, his college sweet
heart of Savannah, Georgia.
God has blessed this union
with three sons, Edward La
mar Ellis IV, Samuel Lewis
Ellis, and William Taylor
Robert Ellis.

Gospel Concert at the
Royal Church of Christ
The Helping Hand Committee of the Royal
Church of Christ, Inc. is pleased to announce that they are

Banquet Dinner
On behalf of the Harvest Day Committee of First
Union Missionary Baptist Church would like to invite

Thea A. L. Washington Gospel Choir of St. James
A.M.E. Church, 632 East Broad Street, Savannah, GA, ex

their 45th Singing Anniversary on Saturday, January 23,
2016 at 4pm. The Gospel Chorus has been singing for Jesus

A Clarion Call to the Men
The men of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of
Savannah, Inc. will present a Fifty Voice (50) Male Chorus
on the fifth Sunday In January at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel. They
are enlisting the help of all men willing to stand up as men
and be a part of something in Savannah as well as Beth
el. They are not looking for specifically singers, but rather
men willing to give singing a try. Their Minister of Music
Brother Tyronne Robinson is up to the task of creating a
Mighty Anny of Singing Men. Letters have been sent to

pastor. The candidates must be bom again,
baptized believer in Jesus Christ and must be
equipped lo preach and teach the tiospel of Jesus
Christ, The candidate should demonstrate his or
her ability to exhibit good leadership, counseling,
leaching, and preaching skills that will draw others
to Christ, lie or she must possess the ability to
spiritually fulfill the needs of the congregation (
i.e. prayer, officiating weddings and funerals,
baptizing converts, etc,) The candidate should
have a passion for the youth possess a heart for the
people, and lead with sound bibtlical doctrine
according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. The
candidate should preferably be united in holy
wedlock. References and background checks will
